BT Broadband cannot track usage

I have spoken to an advisor from BT Broadband this morning and he has told me that BT are unable to track an individuals internet useage. BT have regraded their Broadband products into four options 1,2,3,4 (very imaginative!) from £17.99 to £29.99. Mainly these are based on internet useage amounts, although their are other small differences between the packages (firewall, ad-blockers and extra email accounts). Existing users are recommended to have a look at whether you're being severely overcharged. You could start saving £144 per year.
I was also told if you exceed the specified useage amount "regularly" then BT will simply contact you to consider changing package. There are no penalties or fines for over-use.
I hope that helps someone. I would also be aware in my experience of BT you may phone the same help desk and get totally different information. If so please let me know!! :rotfl:

Looks like the Gizmo household will be downgrading soon!Occasionally exceeding your usage guideline is not a problem - if your usage regularly exceeds the guideline amount we will contact you to suggest possible upgrade options

Am I missing something...???
If they can't track your internet useage then how would they know if you are regularly exceeding the "guideline amount"?0
