Where to park for Liverpool FC (Anfield) - UPDATED after going!

Am going to a friendly on Friday (8pm kick off), have never been before, and have no choice but to drive....

Can anyone please advise where best to park (safely!)?

The woman on the booking line at the club advised to park in the city centre and get a bus/taxi to the ground.

Any help would be much appreciated (we are not staying overnight by the way)

  • If your getting there a couple of hours before I always park inside Goodison Park as Everton open their car park up. Last year they charged £8 per car for league and Euro games which you will probably find to be the norm at all the car parks. Its only a short walk across Stanley Park. I wouldn't park in the city centre as it will takes ages to get back to your car after a match believe me. The roads will be jammed if trying to get a bus or taxi to the city centre. You will get out of Liverpool much quicker if you stick to a car park nearer the ground

As has been said above, there are a few car parks on the far side of Stanley Park.

    More info here...

I don't know your location, but often, the fastest way out of the city is up the M58 and back onto the M6 from there.

I have only been once but I parked at Everton too, it was the season before and it was a fiver, the walk across Stanley park is not too far and you can get away reasonably quick after the match

I would say park at Goodison or in the Vernon Sangster Car Park at the end of Stanley Park (Arkles Lane end) but you have to be fairly early for the latter as it fills up quickly.
I wouldn't park on the streets surrounding the ground, mainly out of respect for the residents because I used to live in that area and know how much it affects peoples lives coming home from work and not being able to park within 3 miles of your own house.

Remember to put your hub caps in your boot. And agree to pay the scallies who demand money to 'watch your car for you'.

    As I'll be using a sat-nav...

Does anyone know what street Everton's car park is, and indeed, if it's available to use for this game, given it's a friendly?

Also, I'd like some back-ups to be on the safe side, so can someone please advise the street names of the Stanley Park car parks that a few people have recommended?

It's an 8pm kickoff, so what time do you think I should arrive, in order to get a spot in the above car parks?!

    Thanks again.

The Stanley Park car park is at the junction of Priory Road and Arkles Lane, type in L4 7UR if you need a post code, its near enough. I think 5.30-6 should be OK for a friendly game to park but then again I have never had to park so can't be 100% sure.

Anyone know the street name for Everton's car park?
  • It's probably Goodison Road, but I couldn't be definite.
