Thanks for all your nice messages. I'm one of those mums who believes kids should have pets - it help them learn responsibility and yes it's sad when they die - but again, it's all part of lifes rich tapestry. I just didn't expect to feel so sad - though I did think it might be a serious injury - as soon as she said 'broken back' I just went. I am pleased we got him seen to quickly though - yet he was pulling himself about and scratching - not showing any actual signs of discomfort!
I'm just the same with cats too. We have one - and she is a chatty thing loads of sounds for different things. She can't half moan when she's been stuck outside in the rain. And, when I'm backing my car onto the drive stands behind it - I've had horns pipped at me, anxious pedestrians hammering on the car because they think I don't know she's there. She saunters off - it's almost as though she wants to wind people up!

Mamma Mia was fab - highly recommened it - and stay until the VERY end!

And now - I must fly. Beds aren't made. Pots aren't washed. But the bathroom is spotless - thank you stardrops!

Crafty - you have my sympathies, it's definitely a learning curve!!

Pollybear - sorry for your loss

Not much flying done today as it's mum's birthday so we've been out for lunch, then for a walk and ice-cream :D

Was sleepy when I got back but have washed up and sorted a box of junk I bought home from school at the end of term!

Should have a pretty free day tomorrow so will hopefully get stuff done then.

Slowly getting ther, packed my clothes and started DH's - he usually does his own but as he is not back from Zurich yet and I want to get as much in the car as possible tonight I may be doing it.

Just scoffed some apple and blackberry pie with cream and feel sick - I am not good with fat and think the cream and pastry were too much.

Time to nit comb the kids and get two into bed. Just check my list.

Just combed DS2 and he is hopping again with incy wincy little bugs! Anyone got the nitty gritty comb? Is it any more effective than the others. I know these ones were eggs when I combed him 2 days ago.

I prefer to just use the 'standard' plastic nit combs and loads of conditioner.

They grow really quickly and if you just keep combing and conditioning every other day, you'll soon be rid of them. 7 to 10 days at the most.

I'm assuming that you haven't encountered them before. Sorry if I'm wrong.

Crafty and froddington - we can have our own club!! Mind you - I don't think anyone would really want to join would they!:rotfl:

I did none of my very long list. We went to the allotment instead and had our dinner up there. Also harvested some peas (in the freezer within half an hour of picking), tomatoes, carrots and some blackberries. We have a huge bramble all down one side of our allotment so we get a large punnet full every day at the moment. Mind you...the children scoff half of them!

Dusty - i've only used the plastic nit comb, nothing special. I do find spraying leave in conditioner helps as the nits apparently can't cling on. You've made me itch again!! xx
