DH is still fast asleep so no chance of me making it to church, but never mind...i'm gonna clean the inside of the lounge windows instead...;)
also, any green-fingered flyladies out there - can you advise me if its an ok time to repot houseplants? some of mine are really pot bound and i was thinking i might go and buy some houseplant compost today and do them...
Most pot plants don't tend to have seasons when it's safe to repot, as such, though in the summer the do tend to grow a little faster. Presumably you know not to pot into a vastly bigger pot? If their little roots are peeping out - then it's time to repot. If they are in the middle of flowering - might be better to wait - but generally, I would repot.
Hope that helps.
Incidentally a good book is 'Be your own houseplant expert'. Dr. D. G. Hessayon. It's been published for ages but I think it would still be in print.
Probably updated, actually, too.
Actually I don't know if I'm supposed to recommend books - are there any rules about this?Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Well this morning it started off lovely and sunny. Then it tipped down and now it's lovely and sunny again. Do I dare hang out the bedding I've just washed?
Really crap day yesterday. Ended up finding a new game to play and then played it to death till 11.30pm last night. Was very depressed.
Then DH accussed me of being a lazy so and so because I didn't do anything yesterday. Apart from clear DS bedroom ready for decorating. Then I wanted some stuff moved but he wouldn't move from in front of the tv to help. So I just gave up in the end.
And because I didn't do any flying yesterday the house is a pigsty. So it just goes to show who actually does the cleaning and what happens when I don't. I really would love to be single at times. Bloody men are PITA's.
Right I'm gonna finish some of my list. God forbid I should want a bit of a break of a weekend. There will be paybacks though.
:rotfl:DH just read this and has now named me 'one sided Annie' He is of course free to add his side of events but has at the moment declined the option:rotfl::rolleyes:
Wonder why?;)0 -

think its fine to recommend stuff. i've actually got that book - should've thought about it! i'm in a lazy mood today anywy so i'm not sure what the chances are of me actually getting around to doing that...:A plus there's no wilkinsons here so i'd have to get compost from the garden centre....though the car needs a run i suppose.
DH now up and at the computer studying whilst eating his bfast, i've washed up and put the WM on again, just gonnna clean the windows then treat myself to an hour of tv.. :jMum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Question from DH. He wants to know how many of you have OH/DH that come home to a manky house (see above post plus if you care to my deleted list wherever it's gone) Because you have spent ONE day in front of the pc for 10 hours.
Edited to add that he spent the entire day in front of the TV apart from cooking breakfast and then making some pastry things at 7.00pm ish last night.0 -
F&*k - the emails are starting again!

Morning all
Two loads of washing done, it's been in and out twice already but sunny and windy at the moment.
Roast dinner cooking, not planning to do much else today just the normal tidying as I go and washing up etc. Oh and I made a apple and blackberry crumble for pudding.0 -
