i have just spotted this car in a local garage and love it! my sister got finance with them and they appear to be quite reasonable in amount paid on top in comparison to what i paid in a loan..anyway the car is a:
2005 05 Reg MG ZR 1.4 105

Price:
£4,995

Could i knock them down and what is reasonable? is it a good price for the car?

depends on condition but presuming good condition with 30k miles I'd expect £500 off the price the dealers asking...

There is no way on earth that is worth 5k. The last new ones were at auction 12-18 months ago going for 4 or so.

I love the look of it and it has loads of extras my car doesn't have, looking at lots in autotrader and other garages it does seem cheaper or the same price as cars not with as much. I always look for low mileage so that is a big thing, i love how it looks and the colour (typical female!) the rest is pretty bog standard and why they put rubbish like adjustable seats?! still really like it.

Glasses guide price for July (you can probably knock a couple of hundred off for August) is £5000 with 36000 miles, trade price £3700. But, cars aren't selling well at present, so I think that £5k for this car is more than it is worth. Would suggest £4400 / 4500 absolute maximum. Remember, the cost to change is the all important part. are there any other cars / dealesr you can look at to get a comparison?

generally the more extras on a rover just menas more things to break, and quickly. costing you more money.
i think the head gasket problem was with the older version of this car.
i personally wouldnt touch it. spend a bit more and get a focus st170.

going from a focus to a rover will be a bit of a culture shock i think.
what extras does the rover have that the st170 doesnt?
