We are planning on stocking up on seasoned logs for stove soon
Last October we paid £110 for a large transit tipper load which lasted us until Feb 08 and we used pallets as well about 20 in all plus CH on on low
A friend told me the other day that they knew someone that got a load from another supplier which I managed to get there details and web site but it says "£50 for a cubic metre box" and a picture shown (see below) Obviously want to get a good deal and we have storage for about 2 transit loads in a large garage which we made some racks to store the logs in.

Had a quick look on net and it says on this web site "One cubic METER = 35 cubic FEET"

I'd guess that 2 of those cubic metre boxes would be roughly the same as a Transit full. The prices you mention are comparable, and seem to be about the going rate. You've got the right idea buying now, most people tend to leave it til Autumn, so there's always a rush.
My advice, if you need it, is stick with a supplier who guarantees seasoned wood, even if they are more expensive. If you buy cheap logs that are still too wet, you'll be regretting it all winter!0 -
just paid £80 for a mixed hard/soft wood seasoned load - a ton which I would gues is approx 2 cu metres? (Northumberland)0

Thanks all. £80 doesn't sound to bad. My last lot was a transit tipper load for £110. Thinking of getting 2 loads and asking for some discount0
