How long does post take from America?

How long should I wait for a money order to arrive from America. I've recently sold 2 separate items to different buyers in the US and I'm still waiting after nearly 3 weeks. I normally specify Paypal only from international bidders, but for some reason it was missing from my description.

I've emailed both of them and not had a reply from either.

If it had only happend once I'd start a NPB claim, but twice makes me think that maybe I'm being a bit hasty. How much longer would you allow?

Do you know how much it will cost to cash a $'s money order over here? I've been told it can be very expensive!

Can take a month so I would wait 5 weeks before starting NPB. The one thing that would concern me is the lack of contact. I might send an e-mail asking for confirmation that they have been posted and if I didn't get a reply by say Tuesday I might start it earlier.

3 weeks is too long...start a npb cos you won't be able to soon!

you can always start a npb (for saftey) and end it without any harm if you receive the funds...then you are covered.

i've had a few items shipped from US, mainly small parcels, and its usually 5-7 working days. the same for me shipping to the US too.

I've bought books near New York and they arrived here in under a week.

I posted an O2 SIM card to NY at 5pm - it was there the next day.

I don't normally accept money orders and never have done before, but I stupidly didn't check that my description stated 'paypal only from overseas', so I really don't have any choice but to accept it if that is their chosen method of payment. It won't be a mistake that I make again!!

I've started NPB with both of them and we'll see what happens...

If they posted it by airmail it could arrive within a week but if they posted surface mail it could take up to 3 months :eek:

One of the buyers has responded to the dispute saying that she did post the money order, although she has no proof of postage. So where do I go from here, as it still hasn't arrived??
