What they are doing is illegal, whereabout in Scotland are you. If you can get to the Govan Law Centre or look at their website which quotes the law on not witholding social secuirty benefits. If you cant get to them go to you local CAB, they will call or the DWP and HMRC (or you can do this yourself) and they will contact Citibank to get it unfrozen or give you a crisis loan in the meantime, which you can pay back when Citibank has cleared up this mess and hopefully pocket £20 for the inconvenience of all of this.

    Good luck, keep us posted.

can you send them a secure email with this URL in it so they can see the case:

Dont know if it will help, I have had a look but cant find their CEO's email address. Usually sending it to him or her pushes things along alot quicker.

  • I know all about this kind of thing with Citibank.

Problem is talking to them, some of their agents have such a poor grasp of English you can't make yourself understood to them.

I found faxing them in the UK (in London) in the best option on: 020 7892 0818
£2 Coin Savers Club (Christmas)- £86
    £1 Jar (Christmas)- £29
    Christmas Vouchers Saved: £145

    Hi ged

I would go with dexters_mum and fax it off to london. It is likely to make them move faster. Maybe you could write a letter to go with the court papers pointing out the arrest of benefits has been found illegal in Scotland, I think the exact part of the Social Secutiry law is much shorter than the legal papers it is two lines. Ask them them to obey the law, otherwise you will seek legal re-dress.

Please let us know how things are going.

    Best of luck

    James
