sounds good to me, hubby is a mechanic, so can do the work if it fails for my campervan!! thanks op!!

Beware, my hubby is also a mechanic by trade, and thought he could do any small jobs himself if my car failed. I had my car mot'd (well known franchise), it failed but only needed a few minor things totalling £156 inc mot (they didn't rip me off either as oh done a quick check to see what it might need brforehand). A sign in the garage said that if mot failures are repaired outwith the garage, then the mot re-test would not be free! Probably doesn't apply at every garage/ franchise, just making you aware. ;)

If you feel hard done on your MOT then they have acode of practice all MOT station must comply with and you can report them. Plus Nationwide do a price match in your local area (they say they use genuine parts, may be best to check with a main dealer). So not getting ripped off if work needs doing by them and may also avoid re-test fee.

Does anyone know if the vouchers are still in The Sun, or was it for one day only?

Gutted if i've missed it as my MOT is due at the end of month, and i've used Nationwide for the past 3 years, passing 1st and each time.

Ive got a spare voucher , as i always use my clubcard points its not needed first to PM me can have it.

BTW ive been using NAC for about 5 years now and never had a problem, last year it failed on one of the wipers they put on a new one FOC :D

Dont forget folks you can MOT you car a month early so if yours runs out in September you can still MOT it in August with the voucher :)

  • I have to say that my experience of Nationwide has been mixed.

During one visit for a battery check they were very honest and told me the battery was fine, but just needed a good charge.

However, in contrast to others here I couldn't get them to fix my brakes for love nor money! On the THIRD visit where I asked them to check the brakes they finally found something wrong, and said that I was lucky I didn't leave it any longer or the discs would have been damaged beyond repair. My first request for them to check the brakes had been six weeks before. I felt their lack of attention had put me at risk.
