Who handles cash isa transfers the best?

Hi all,
I have a few cash isas all over the place with different rates and providers. I would like to bring them all together under one cash isa.
With all the transfer problems I have been reading about, who is the most reliable and efficient isa provider that takes transfers in? Doesn't need to be the best rate, just want to get the transfers done with a minimum of fuss.
Any one stand out?
Thanks for your help. Si

Ruffler Bank was the best one I've used so far. Everything was done quickly and efficiently - good rate too.

Icesave handled my son's transfer well too - it did take a little longer but not bad.0 -
I recently transferred some A&L ISAs into the Newcastle Building Society ISA Plus account (currently 6%). I found Newcastle to be very efficient.
Don't forget though, that whichever new provider you select and no matter how efficient they are, they will be at the mercy of the old provider to respond quickly to the transfer request, and a lot don't I'm afraid.

OH and I are also in the process of transferring our ISAs to Newcastle BS from Abbey and Barclays.
We are impressed with communications from Newcastle so far. They informed us promptly that they had sent the transfer request forms to our current ISA managers.
The only problems we can foresee are if Abbey and Barclays drag their feet as Newcastle have said if the current ISA managers have not transferred funds to them after 30 days then they will cancel the transfer request.0 -
Icesave were very efficient for me. Total of 16 days from my applying to the money visible in my account online. They wrote to me to tell me they had written to my ISA providers, and wrote to me again to let me know that the transfer process was complete.0

Thanks for all your help.
I just want to make sure the first big transfer of all the isas into one goes smoothly.
Of course, I didn't think that you really are at the mercy of the providers who currently have your isas.
Will have a look at all the providers mentioned.
Thanks again Si0 -
I transferred our ISA's from NS&I to RufflerBank.
My ISA was transferred within a week, whereas my OH's ISA took about 3 weeks. The delay was at NS&I's end. Rufflerbank were a pleasure to deal with throughout and seemed to deal with all correspondence almost immediately.
Reading some of the posts on here, it would seem we were lucky. TBH, I cannot see us moving from Ruffler, unless their rates suddenly plunge relative to other banks/BS's.In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0 -
The problem is - just because it works well once, it doesn't mean it will another time.
I have transferred into both Icesave and Lloyds TSB with no problem at all and very quickly. Yet I know someone who had a short delay with Icesave and multiple problems with Lloyds TSB.
It seems to be a matter of chance only.0 -

Have today learnt that my previous ISAs were both received at Newcastle on Monday of this week.
Looks like both Abbey and Barclays have been very prompt in transferring, well within the 30 day limit. I'm pleasantly surprised considering Shabby Abbey's normal incompetent service and Barclays debacle over ISA openings the last couple of years.
BUT guess who gave them the wrong info for the Barclays ISA. I meant to transfer last year's Tax Beater but inadvertently gave the account number and sort code of this year's Tax Haven instead
doh! Oh well, will just transfer the first Barclays one as well. Not losing that much in interest really by transferring this years. 0 -
Another vote for the superb Ruffler here, just transferred a badly performing cash ISA to them, took about 20 days, all delayed from the original ISA provider (what a surprise) but still within 30 day limit. Ruffler were utterly professional, easily the best bank I've ever dealt with.0

Who are Ruffler Bank - are they private and are they safe?0
