Money Saving Weekend...

Have baked some banana muffins today, and will soon be going to pick up my reserved library book and go on to pick up my Mum to go to Tesco for a food shop. It will only be a small food shop though as the cupboards are pretty full, just need fresh stuff.
Tonight- nothing planned, will prob just stay in and watch telly. I got It's A Wonderful Life cheap from Ebay so may watch that, or just read my book.
So really not planning to spend much money at all. Am feeling quite lazy and tired so can't be bothered to really go out which helps!
Have a good weekend everyone, have some excitement and fun for me!

Will be watching 2 DVDs with the kids - (costs me nothing, as my cousin works at library and lets me have them for free). Also going to Halloween party Sunday tea-time at cousins house. Just taking small items of party food and kids all dressing up for fun. Then Sunday eve, going to a Northern Soul charity disco with eldest son and hubby. Tickets did cost me money, but already paid for. Then teacher training day Monday and off work too, so stay in and do nothing (bliss).keep smiling,

I've just taken my children to see Nanny McPhee at the cinema. I'm a member so the entrance fee cost £8 for 3 of us instead of £11.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

hi all.....an expensive but moneysaving weekend. bought 12 bottles of my fav wine online at tesco today got 1000 points, i usually drink about one bottle a week so should last me about 3 months!!! and £40 in deals (have £560 now) also an online grocery shop also with tesco another 500 points (£20 yay!) plus all the exta points i got because its a triple points weekend. ordered some books from amazon for my sons birthday on 29 dec spent over £15 so free delivery. bought nappies and wipes for next two months from boots and last of xmas prezzies (£25 worth of points which i shall be using on toiletries for november meaning a bigger PMS total) this also pushed me over the greasy palm amount so will be getting cheque for £25 sometime soon i hope. and had enough pigggy points to get a cd (kanye west) from cd wow so a very good weekend in my opinion :rotfl:November NSD's - 70

Wow Jamiedodger thats a great moneysaving weekend!
OH and DD's went to the safari park today. We went in summer hols and got a free return visit, this was the last weekend to use it. If we all went we would have had to pay for one entrance fee as we originally went with a friend and her DD in her car. So in true moneysaving style I opted to stay at home instead. Still not that moneysaving as they spent around £25 on wristbands and lunch, (too cold for a picnic)
I made good use of the day at home to stock up the freezer on home made goodies, I made shepherds pie, spag bol, chicken curry and fish pie. I also made (from the bero book) macaroons, rich jam tart, a big bag of crumble topping and chocolate chip cookies. So hopefully this will last for a few weeks so I will not need to resort to shop bought ready meals, I've got no excuse now!
Tomorrow we are going to church and then I'll spend the rest of the day cleaning and cooking roast chicken for tea so should be fairly cheap.0 -
Off out to church shortly then lunch at the V&A: I'm a Friend so get a 10% discount in the cafe
After lunch I think I'll spend a couple of hours wandering round the museum and go to one of their free gallery talks. With any luck the total spend for the day should be under £5.

Working on both days, also doing general household chores. Highlights include cutting the grass and defrosting the freezer.:snow_grin"Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow........":snow_grin0

I got the joys of defrosting our freezer too...boyf says to run the freezer stocks down first but should be ok if I do it quickly with a hairdryer..shouldn't it?Getting Married 19/02/110

I always put a bowl of boiling hot water inside and close the door. Replace the water after about half an hour.I haven't got one!0

Wel, my weekend ended up being cheap by accident! I went out in Camden on Saturday night, expecting to spend a lot of money BUT the cashpoints were all broken (except one with a skimming device attached to it!) and the pubs all said they didn;t take cards (In London?!?!?! Amazing) so people bought me drinks, and I borrowed a tenner from someone but that was it! A tenner for a night out in London! Bargain. V pleased as had budgeted £20 minimum. Also no hangover as hardly drank anything due to not having any money! DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j
