    well said RandyRos!

its bugging me... are there adverts on tv for british pork like there is beef and lamb? im sure everyones seen the advs with 'beefy and lamby' urging us to buy british, i cant recall any for pork though?

Perhaps the advertisers could sign up Dominic Pork?

PS Is that Neil Hamilton modelling the t-shirt, a man best known for telling porkies?

Sorry, I'll get me coat and leave.

Please remind me when Britiain was great? When Churchill was striding the political arena? The post war years when we were bankrupt? The pre-war years when people were lucky to live past 40? When we had our 'Great Empire maybe?

the disturbing thing is, some idiots voted them in for a second term

I always buy british where possible. I think countries should be more self sufficient where possible. after all, whats the point of selling our stuff abroad, then buying foreign stuff to replace it? we should just eat our own!

I've signed up, didnt request any freebies though. I only buy meat from my local farm shop. You can even see them. The farm shop I use is up, again for UK TV's great british food heroes and the meat is beautiful with the added advantage that I know the animals have been well looked after and led an organic and happy life. Support your local stores as much as you can J x

  • Will not sign up and have absolutely no sympathy for farmers, least of all pigs farmers! Unless you are buying free range pork, you can be guaranteed that the pigs have led a short and miserable life, kept indoors, never seen the light of day (except maybe on the way to the slaughter house to have their throats cut!)

This could all stop if people stopped supporting these farmers by buying free range pork instead of cheap supermarket pork. (same goes for chicken and eggs)

It's sickening that we have SPCA's to prevent cruelty and neglect of pet animals and then there is perfectly acceptable "humane" abuse in the form of factory/intensive farming and slaughter of animals.

  • Got a pack this morning. Well I say pack, I got a car sticker and a recipie book (neither of which I wanted) shame, I was looking forward to costing the meat industry some money.
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

Randyros, you are a star!! We are farmers struggling to make a living which is especially hard on the island as we have no abatoir. We produce our own meat for ourselves and therefore in todays climate the best we can hope for is self sufficiency!!
