    Thanks Mr Skint,
I have used AVG before and Ntl e-mail does not support this. Just wanted feedback on Ntl Netguard.

Ntl netguard will slow your PC down quite a lot, you may wanna get shot of it anyway as its pretty rubbish, and AVG should work I mean it has an e-mail scanner if thats what you meant.

Can you explain how you say it doesnt work with Ntl,, Thanks suzanne

@Suzanne - when you say ntl email does not support AVG how do you mean? Just that I'm on ntl and I use AVG quite happily and have done for some time. I know it checks my email as I get report files included with incoming emails on occasions (where attachments etc are present).

    Hi All,
Whenever I have had a problem with e-mail I have rang Ntl, they always ask if I have AVG, if so disable it and try e-mail again. Every time I disable AVG, my e-mail has worked perfectly thats why I ditched AVG.
I have not installed Netguard yet Mr Skint.
    Thanks
    Suzanne

Hey dont install it, Oh yeah you phoned Ntl ofcourse they will push there own stuff
so when you phone up with problems they log the calls and dont pay you for reporting
    the glitches in the software....

    Ignore Ntl they are gaylords

Oh aah yeah get the latest AVG release, or get Avast if you wanna try that it wont harm http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

ok - so back to basics.

i'm assuming you use a client on your pc to get your email (rather than accessing it online through the webmail interface). can you confirm that this is indeed how you get your email and if so - what's the client. as i said above, i have AVG running now and am getting ntl email through outlook fine. (i also have had it working with outlook express and thunderbird) i suspect there is a setting somewhere that is causing problems.

(also any info on your connection speed - broadband / dialup? and if you have any sort of firewall installed would be handy.)
