I personally have had the opposite experience, iv been with them for many years and never once had a problem, once i forget my password and it took a week for the new one to arrive with i was annoyed abt but compared to troubles iv had with other banks looking back this was nothing!
There is a function when you log in called something like "contact account manager" and you personally send them an email and they have always responded to me within 24hours!0 -
if you follow the rails, it's sweet and easy. If you wanna make mid-flight changes, it's a pain in the 4R$3
Welcome to internet savings, people0 -
I deposited some money into a HI Save 5 year account which is suppose to pay interest monthly. Firstly you have to provide a copy of your Passport verified by certain professionals, provide bank statements (Its been 5 so far and they still say they want another!),fill in Direct debit forms even though you are putting money into a one off payment account.(Which my bank has said I shouldn't have done, and is not necessary.) I was told by ICICI that if I didn't I wouldn't get any interest.
I have spent hours on the phone and by email trying to sort out this account. I have in the past had bonds, ISA's every sort of savings account you can imagine and never had a problem.
Twice I have asked for their complaints department address or if I can have a refund and close this account since they aren't paying me any interest, to which I have had no response. I have seen the ICICI complaints address on this website and will write, but hold out little hope after all the dealings I have had already. I wish I had read all the horror stories on this website beforehand.
If they really do have any customer care surely they would have sorted themselves out with all the complaints they have received on this website alone. Finally I'd be really interested to know if anyone else has been inundated with telesales calls from India since joining this bank.0 -
Ok but Im not alone! Look at all the other people who've been having problems they far outweigh those who don't. Count yourself lucky.0

ICICI are far more professional and easier to talk to than the Spanish bank of scousers Santandar, I have just had three bonds mature, one with Firstsave a Nigerian bank, the second with ICICI, and the third the scouse bank, the first two were a pleasure to deal with, the scouse bank were a bunch of amateurs with different ideas of what their policies were, depending on who you spoke too. I would avoid Santandar like the plague.0

Well I invested money with ICICI and haven't had a penny interest and I am suppose to receive interest monthly. I have dealings with Santandar and they've been fantastic!0

Santandar are verging on con artists in my opinion. They won't provide internet access to my account I think so far 5 people have claimed it's been fixed and it just hasn't. Worried now because I can't see what's going on and they've been overcharging loads of people taking direct debits twice, then charging when accounts fall into overdrafts they caused. I also think their security is also suspect because I called so much I answer very similar questions, sometime okay sometimes I fail them (no biggie just call again and get through to another person).
I've noticed much more anger with Santandar than ICICI on the forums (but maybe I'm looking for it).
Think we need a my bank is more incompetent than your bank thread.:rotfl:Santander are awful - mission in life is to warn people since 17-Sep-10, 18-Sep-10 realised one of thousands.0 -
Think you're right, if you are having a problem with your bank it is so frustrating you don't think there can be any worse. There seems to be really poor customer service in a few. Ive just never had this sort of problem with any other savings type or bank.0

I have an account with ICICI bank UK and it is now in dormant state. Is it possible to activate it by visiting ICICI bank in India?0

This may go on a while.
So I opened a Hi- Save account with ICICI bank.
I believed it was for a year and am now in the process of buying a house - I intended to use the money for my deposit.
I logged on to the website - but I had forgotten my password. I requested a new one. Waited and waited. I then phoned them - they hadn’t received any such request - I requested a new password but although I had rung them up with my new address they hadn't logged it and so refused to send me one as I had quoted the wrong address.
I had to call up again and log a whole new call with my old address and request the password. It took 2 months for me to get access to the website. When I finally got there - I tried to check my account to be told the account did not exist.
I phoned again but three times the phone wouldn't connect so finally I emailed to let them know. - I had £20,000 in there which obviously I was a bit anxious about.
Their response -
Please take a photo shot of the screen.
Provide your IBL (or something) address
And lots of other technical questions which not being a techie I have no idea about.
When I got access - it appears I couldn't withdraw my money for another 6 months.
I appealed to them and they said they would look into it. I'm not sure if they extended it or what - but I had noted in my diary for when it matured so I'm pretty sure I'd only put it in there for a year.
Cut a long story short - they have the worst customer service I know. Emails are not replied to - phones calls are not logged. Every decision takes 5 days.
I agreed to the penalty which was basically I lose all my interest so essentially this meant the money had done nothing for a whole year. But I had to confirm my acceptance 3 times by phone and 4 times by email. Every time I called up - I tried to explain and they didn’t understand and would log a new request. They couldn’t tell me the status of any past request; they consistently got my account number wrong and would lock my account because obviously the answer didn't tally
Phone calls were not logged and they would deny receiving emails
Every decision took 5 days - even ones I had already confirmed. I was told three different amount of the money I would receive.
The transfer itself took a week and half - because they kept forgetting to start it. When it did start the account was closed and I had no access but it didn’t show in my linked account. When I called them to check it was continuing they stated there was no account and so they couldn’t talk to me. For the 4 days I had no idea where my money was and the stress of thinking that had gone missing was ridiculous.
So to sum up - the website is atrocious, the customer service is appalling and overall - it’s been a nightmare. Its taken 3 months and a week to get my money. The stress I've had has been ridiculous.
I don't care what the interest is - I wouldn’t never ever bank with these people again.:mad:
I can’t really express how bad it has been enough in this email.Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely
in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways -
Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up,
totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO, What a Ride!0
