Nokia N95 8GB - £179.00 on 02? help

I am coming to the end of my 18 month £30/month Orange contract and have been offered 600 mins/unlimited texts and internet with free Nokia N95 8GB - the only phone that i want - end of!
Only problem with Orange is signal in some buildings in my area where i know my friend on O2 can get a signal.
I phoned up 02 for their £35 month 600 mins/1000 texts/unlimited internet and was just about to start placing the order when the sales girl (who said it was free as we were going through the signing up process) came back and said the phone is now £179.00 which even she did not realise they were now charging for and she thought it was expensive. I stopped the order.
I stated i wanted the phone for free as both Orange and Vodafone this offer for the same contact tarif. She could not offer it me for free and suggested i contact their customer services dept but i cant see that being of any use.
Before i upgrade with Orange, can anyone recommend what i can do to try to get the phone for free on O2 - 02 is the only network i will leave Orange for and the N95 is the only phone i want.

Just checked o2's website and it looks like you can't get it free unless you go for a £75 a month contract (18 months) or £70 (24 months). It's £149.99 if you go for the £35 a month deal. Think this might be a recent change, hence the sales girl being caught out.0 -
You should hold out a bit.. the N96 is out soon!! It's more of less the same as N95 8gb, but is a bit nicer looking (IMHO anyway..)0
