 Just bought ths package with a 5 year warranty from Sony store in Brent Cross which is a Sonex store rather than a Sony Centre for £699.99 including a 5 year warranty!
The Sony stores inside Debenhams seem to be doing the deal - Brent Cross have aranged for the Plymouth store to get mine delivered as i live in Cornwall. If you can get to a store they were also offering 9 months interest free credit with £100 deposit. They will also deliver/install for £65
This deal should be an in-store deal but i managed to buy/order it over the phone and send a chq as they couldn't take credit cards over the phone.
Also available in several other Sonex stores def Bromley.
This deal is so worth it with the 5 year guarantee for both items even though free 5 bluray discs offer has expired.
Thanks to HUKD!:j0 -
The player came today (TV to follow) and sure enough there was the CD to use and register with to get the discs!
Have you received your discs yet swebb? Others reported on getting theirs after a few days, mine was registered three weeks ago and still waiting!
I have a shiny new blu ray player and nothing to play on it at present...0 -
No nothing yet! Just back from hols - so I did the online thing 2 weeks and 1 day ago...
I'll give it a week or so before I chase.0 -
I just checked a screen print that I did when I completed the registration. It says the discs will arrive within 28 days. So I can wait longer.0

Anyone know if this blu ray player plays region 1 DVDs? If not, can a setting be made to change this?0

HD ready usually means the screen has a minimum resolution of 720 x 1366 pixels per square inch, full HD (and just to reitterate this tv IS FULL HD) has a maximum resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels per square inch making the picture crisper and sharper in detail.
Imagine drawing an inch square box and squeezing 1080 dots per column in horizontally and 1920 dots per row vertically and you get the idea!
As mentioned at this size you would really have to have eyes like a hawk to notice the difference between 720 pixel and 1080 pixel resolution but it does become more apparent when you start to go above 40 inch screen sizes.
"per inch" is redundant/error in this post.
If it was per inch size would not matter.0 -
