That it does - didnt go that far! May be worth a call to see if they will honour the price!
To Stooze or Not To Stooze - Theres only one option :D
  • Remember John Lewis will price match any in-store offer at other major outlets! (Plus you also get the 5 year gurantee on tvs.)

The TV is full high definition, I got one on Saturday from The Sony Centre with FREE Blu-ray player and FREE 5 Year Guarantee for £799. Definitely a bargain to say the Blu-ray player is £299 from Argos.

Also if you buy before 15th August you get a CD with the Blu-ray player, load it into your pc and it directs you to a website, register on the Sony website and they send you four FREE Blu-ray movies which are

    The Lost Kingdom
    The Simpsons Movie
    Die Hard 4
    Surfs Up

The bargains just keep getting better ;)

Are you sure this was £799 not £899? Just been into my local Sont store, and they have it for £899 - with what appear to be nationwide posters of this offer!?

Sony centres are independently operated - so they are free to sell at whatever price they wish and you may find differentials as a result
The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster! :)

  • The TV is excellent both in picture and sound, however you can get the TV for under £700 at Dixons online, the player on the other hand is not fantastic and has a bit of a hi-fi geek I would recommend using a PS3 (very easy to update via firmware downloads unlike the Sony Blu Ray player) or the recently released Panasonic at around £269. Remember this is just my opinion.

we have this blu-ray player and a PS3 and whilst the player takes an age to start you can download an update onto a disc for this player.

...and the update speeds this up? How do you get the link?
  • These offers will be more common with the reduction in production costs of panels this year expected to be 10-15%.

As the Sony guy at E3 said "You have to stand closer to see the benefits of bluray" to a tech journalist when he stood 10 feet back from a 50 inch HD plasma. Take from that what you want....

Oh and this is the upgraded model on the 40V3000, it benefits from the superior Bravia 2 engine and better sound quality !![/quote]

Sony site doesnt mention Bravia engine 2 for the 40V3000.
