No i dont get DLA or a mobility car, but believe me im sure all these genuine people would give it up tomorrow if they could have a life without disability
Truely sicking, it really is, you disgust me
the bottom line is jealousy! if you rather have a disability to get a car then there is something really wrong with you!
You make a very valid point, a point that I agree with entirely.
However I do have to smile a little when you say that all these genuine people would give it up.....Where I live you would think that 75% of the population suffer from terrible mobility problems. It's comical really. The MPV (the motability vehicle of choice , although there are a few 4x4's and BMW's) is always out on the school run taking little Johnny to school and all the neighbour's offspring. Then off it goes to Sainsburys then to the various coffee mornings, then to pick the children up in the afternoon.
Now you might say how do I know. Well, I live in the same area, but more importantly I know all of the children in the primary school. I am the chairman of the PTA and visit at least twice a week. None of the kids involved have a disability!
So that leaves mum & dad. Mum no - but dad oh yes dad, terrible problems - can't walk anywhere - no because most if not all use the other family car for his job. It's one big con. Would they want to give it up???
Then we have my son in law's father. He is that bad that he can't move around at all. Yet, the mobility BMW118 is used by mum all day and every day and dad stays in bed ahhhhhh!!
But no, he quietly slips out in his 4x4 down the road as he owns and runs a small marina selling boats and jet skis. Come summer, he is out on the water having a whale of a time.
Yet when he has advance notice of a visit from the DWP (claims IB, IIDB) everything disappears and he is suffering with pain and can't get out of bed.
On top of that he is that crafty that he make regular visits to A&E to keep the records up to date every time he falls over getting out of bed to go to the toilet!
And he is just one of six that I know play the system.
Would he want to give up his entitlement???
OK there are some genuine cases, but seriously, they are really in the minority - well round here they are!!0 -

You visit twice a week - so how would you know that none of the kids have disabilities? Many people do have invisible disabilities. And he is just one of six that I know play the system.

Why won't you report them, then? Or is that because you don't have evidence and are making up assumptions? Like those who think that if you can't see a disability, it can't exist.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

You beat me to it sh1305.
You keep saying this time and time again oldestrocker and do nothing about it. If you firmly believe they are being fraudulent do something about it grow some bits and report them but I guess you have no evidence other than hear say and YOUR beliefs so in sight of that please change the tune.
Also stop hijacking other ppls threads one glance of your history clearly shows you jumping on numerous posts with nothing helpful to say other than spout of your one sided narrow minded mantra and upsetting alot of new members who dont understand why the heck your doing it and get very upset by it. Also following another member actively making posts to try and force a reaction is out of order.
So please stop. I'm sure you can have your very own angry thread in the MSA if you need to just stop spreading your misery elsewhere. There are many things I could comment about you on this thread but its not my place to hijack it and its not yours.

Hi anyone out there who can answer this question...
My question is 'Is there a hole in the benefits system?'
The situation is...
11 year old boy able bodied, socialises well with Asberger's syndrome, receives DLA and qualifies for getting a car on mobility because he needs driving to school, clubs etc.
Mother has Lupus and arthritis, receives DLA and qualifies for a mobility car.
Father, fully able bodied, no disabilities, works full time.
So, boy has car that mother drives, mothers car is driven soley by father to go to work etc. Can this be right? Is there a hole in the benefits system that allows a family to have 2 mobility cars when 1 of the recipents is only 11 years old? Or can this only be done if there is 'underhandedness' going on?
Thanks
From angry/bewildered tax payer who sees able bodied father using mobility car inappropriately or am I bitter!
I !!!!ing hate people like you.0 -

I know what you mean, but I do know!
Why would I want to report them. If they get caught OK, but I'm not going to be the one to cause problems in the family.
Besides which, as I have mentioned before out of the 8 that I actually know about, 6 are in some part related to my family.
Besides which, I have never informed on anybody in my life. A good friend of mine is what you would call one of the old breed of East End 'characters'. Big guy, ex docker, but a heart of gold. In his time he has been a handful and got involved in the 60's gang culture with the Richardsons. But one thing he lived by was never talk about what others are doing - invariably it will come back and bite you on the backside! Good advice I think - so mouth shut and get on with my life not the lives of others!0 -
