Does this site not use avatars?

Just wondering. I just now started checking out the user options, etc. It seems I'm able to upload an avatar, but I've never seen one used here.

That's a good point. This is a great site, but I'm surprised it doesn't have the facility for avatars. I know it says you can upload them, but seeing no one has them, it can't be possible. There are so many different personalities on this forum, and it would be good to be able to express them with our choice of avatar.

I just uploaded a pic that shows on my profile page, but not anywhere else. Hm.

There are lots of avatars!
Go to your Options page and tick Show Avatars half way down.

I thought the pic over there <<<<<<<<< is your avatar If you hover your mouse over it it says so and so's avatar.

But I think they're switched off by default for newer users so they can't see them.
Don't know when that happened

Ah thanks! I even looked right at that page, but somehow didn't see the avatars option.

It's a whole new world here now.

Oh I see. Didn't know that, just assumed they were always switched on

You can see avatars under names here ~ you just need to have the function on, like other posters on this thread have said.
