My boyfriend got the samsung g800 at the beginning of March, and we went on holiday in June, and all of a sudden his phone wouldn't charge, so he had no phone on holiday as the battery went dead and couldn't charge it, so when we got home, we went straight to the vodafone shop, and they said they would send the phone away for repair.
The next again week he went to pick this up from the shop, and they said that their engineers were unable to fix this, as they were saying that the phone had been dropped. This phone has not been dropped at all, we had a huge argument with the guy and i phoned up vodafone, to be told the exact same thing, and that they couldn't do anything about this.
So i decided to take the phone to carphone warehouse, they had a look at this and said they couldn't fix it in the shop so sent it away, they said that because he only had it 3 months, it would be under warranty, so if it didn't get fixed, samsung would have to issue a new phone.
A week later i went to pick up his phone from the shop and they said that the phone is not repairable and they are saying that it has also been dropped or there is water damage. I have no way off proving that this has not happened, even though we both know this for a fact. So now he is stuck without a phone, and is just having to use an old one!!!!!
As you can imagine we are not very amused about this, especially with just having the contract for 3 months, and now this is happening, is there any way around this at all?
Sorry for the big long rant!!!!!

Its a common problem, it seems nowadays its always that the phone has been droped or its water damaged, I will try and find out the info u need, I have seen a website that is dedicated to problems like this and will try and find it for you. As its only 3 months ol then it is under warranty but I will find the people you need to speak to to get it replaced.0

Okay, just spoke to someone and they said
you can take it to a cpw express repair centre and get their engineer to give you a second opinion.
A tell tale sign of liquad damage is white residue on the circuit board (which the engineer will normally photograph) or green residue on charging and battery contacts.
If there is no sign of residue on the phone then tak the photograph to Vodafone as proof that there is no water damage to it.0 -
Sorry in the very late reply
I got 2 opinions of engineers, and they both said it is water damage, even though we know for a certainty this was no where near water, it just actually stopped working.
