check if your company has a deal with them - they often do corporate discounts

keep your drink.....just give me the money
  • Check the pruhealth website - although you cant get 6 months free as with Holmes Place, you can get a discounted membership if you are with Pruhealth, so may be cheaper to get Pruhealth insurance, then a discounted rate

Small world!! Yes it is £75 joining fee then £35 a month. Don't mind paying monthly but everyone else I speak to thinks it is a lot to pay to join. I might be moving soon so might only go for 6 months.

Apparently if you work for certain companies or if you are a student you can get it free......

i joined jjb derby in the middle of last month and only had to pay £25 joining fee.. £75 seems to be a bit of rip off!!! I only pay £24.50 per month cos I use the off peak membership.

for a student at jjb, there was no joining fee for me and £20 less a bit a month. They didn't even want to see proof that i'm a student, I had it ready to show, :(.

Birstall just down the road ! £75 to join a gym seems very cheap. Is this for a year or some sort of joining fee?

£75 is not cheap for joining a gym, are you mad!

I work for a gym and the joining fee ranges from £29 - £39.

I am joining Fitness First soon anyway though, as they do a free 7 day trial then you can join without paying a joining fee if you do it before 31st October & they do 3, 6, and 12 month commitment periods.
  • I'm a member at JJB Blackburn. Go in and haggle your way out of the joining fee, speak with the manager use your charm, JJB are flexible, or keep trying the website to finbd out when they have deals,

    Haggling is the way forward
