Pinklipgloss, know exactly how you felt on this. Its a feeling neither of us should have had. Bet if you tot up how much that cost you to wait in its a lot more than you think.

Yep, I've banned on threat of divorce anyone in my house from using Argos.

I know exactly how you feel Tinman. In fact, I'll probably be creating my own Vent Thread soon!

I ordered the leather Alexandra regular 2 seater sofa and chair. I'd seen them in the showroon. They're of good quality leather, were the right size to fit up the stairs to my flat and I really like the style. I liked them at the full price of £900, so when they were in the sale at £500 for the two I snapped them up.

They were delivered, and all was ok, except for the back cushion to the chair. One side is about 2 inches longer than the other side, and it has angular curves, rather than smooth curves. I'm now waiting for the fourth back to be delivered. Each one has been the same. They've been out of stock so I've had a long wait between deliveries.

For this delivery they suggested I change everything incase the new back cushion doesn't match the shade of the rest, but I'm chancing it as I expect there will be something wrong with the new set.

They offered me a refund sometime back, but normal sofa deliveries can take a couple of months, so what the hell do I do between getting rid of the old one and getting a new one? I just know they'd offer me a replacement up to the value of £500, and I wouldn't get anything half as nice as the one I've got for that price I reckon.

I wouldn't mind but the sofa is soooooo comfy and I love it, so I'd be happy for a decent bit of money off instead of all this messing about, but they seem intent on sending me replacements.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

Finally got the second bike on the Wednesday.

    Never again.

    AVOID ARGOS!

    How awful.

Imagine that, something arrives 3 working days late.

Did they compensate you fully for your distress?

    Argos are liars.

They do bring deliveries upstairs for you if you live in a flat that's not on the ground floor. I think they just do not like going into people's houses.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

Have followed the great advice on this site and written a letter to Sara Weller MD.

Started with the how great Argos is bit, through the problem all the way making polite suggestions on how to improve, through to a conclusion on how to resolve the issue.

Feel much better now. Thanks peeps.

I bought my bed from the Boxer Bed Company.

I received a phone call acknowledging my order the day after I placed it online, the man even remember me from when I called with a few questions the previous week. He offered me a delivery date bang inside the 4 week delivery period they offer on their website.

The day before they call to confirm, yes we will be with you between 11-1pm tomorrow. Great, thank you!

On the day, the chaps arrive, 'where do you want it?', I show them. 'It will take about 30 minutes for assembly, is that OK?'. Of course, because I have been made aware of this from their website, very informative. And they checked with me it was the correct size + colour before starting their installation.

I would certainly say I paid for the service I got, yes, but I am very glad I did rather than shelling out £500 for a dud!

    I would recommend them anyway.

    Just my thoughts on service...

Kavanne, just shows you they can do great service when they want.

Must say, I worked out that I've shopped with them for nearly 30 years without major problems - but then I've never needed help from them. Maybe my problem is just an unfortunate string of bad luck and misunderstandings.
