my first post so be kind !! ive just booked a funfare with national express for £10.50 when the journey would normally cost £37 . this was a bit of luck more than anything as the journey i wanted wasn't on funfares ( london - cumbria) but on the off chance i put in london to glasgow(a lot further ) and funfare was available for a tenner !! and the bus calls at my stop . so the thing to do is ,try to find a funfare on the route you are travelling on even if it is a lot further-as long as your stop is on the route of that coach you can get off ,as long as you let the driver know.;)

There is no guarantee the coach you travel on will have such a crooked driver. If you do find a thief who is willing to risk his job to let you defraud his employer then why not just forgo the fare and ticket completely and find a driver who will accept a fiver put in to his backpocket?
  • just put the recent promo code in, and it works out more expensive rather than using it on a funfair route
  • yeah, it's definitely worth trying both with and without the promotional code - it was cheaper for me with the code, but if the 'funfare' is cheap then you'll do bettrer with that
  • Are there any other codes please? I need to buy two return tickets for february from London to Blackpool.

    Thank You
  • COUNTEN is still working. I've just used it for 5 tickets to London.

Just saw this over on hotukdeals (posted by gratts) if anyone is interested.

£1 fares on over 150 routes in conjunction with the Daily Mirror & Sunday Mirror. Think you can get tickets for up until the end of March but you need to book by 1st Feb.

    Terms & Conditions

    1. Offer only available on National Express coaches

    2. Offer only available via the website www.nationalexpress.com/mirror
    3. No refunds available
    4. No further discounts permitted
    5. Not available for travel to/from an airport
    6. UK only travel
    7. You can get off the coach at a location earlier than the one on your ticket (with the exception of airports), providing you tell the driver when you get on, prior to putting your luggage in the hold.
    8. Your seat is guaranteed from the location shown on your ticket, but if you wish to board at a later point (with the exception of airports), we will let you travel as long as there are still seats available – your seat will not be guaranteed.
    9. You must travel on the timed journey you are booked on; if you want to travel at another time you will need to amend your ticket (by calling the National Express Contact Centre or visiting a National Express ticket office) before the departure time shown on your ticket. Please note that if you amend your ticket, you will be upgrading to a new fare category, so the difference between the two fares will be charged and an amendment fee will apply
    10. Must be printed as an e-Ticket or received as an m-Ticket
    11. The offer is subject to availability and only available on selected journeys
  • thankyou. I just managed to book 2 adult returns to London Victoria for only £20.50, using the funfares. The cheapest tickets I found before were £37 going by rail. Almost £17 saving cheers.
  • if you are disabled in any way you get 1/2 tickets and no booking fee and don't need any code or discount card.

Actually, you're completely allowed to do this. It even says so in the T&Cs for the tickets, including the ones in the post 3 above mine.

It's along one of the same principles suggested by Martin Lewis on this site regarding train fares.
    MB profit since September 2008 = £1735
