Well hypno - think the SOA just demonstrates how well you are doing. A very tight ship but in spite of it you have made significant inroads into your debt and are planning to be debt free in the same time frame as me - when you have twice the debt. You'll do it too. Hats off to you girl! :T

And I might have warned you about budgeting for increased gas & electric bills.....but I know you're £80+ in credit at the mo :D

Now that the children are too big to go up chimneys, are there any other jobs round your way that they could take and assist you? (not for debt busting, I'm not really that harsh ;) ) but in case another opportunity like last winters ski-ing comes up?
  • Hi Hypno

We have a similar income to you and we get the basic tax credits of £46 ish can't remember exact off hand but I think everyone up to £60k gets that don't they? Its not much but better in your pocket than theirs?

just wanted to say good luck with the next stage of debtbusting. If anyone is going to sort themselves out it's you...I have every faith. So, onwards and upwards to another profitable and tiring (for me because I always feel exhausted at the amount you do!!!) new diary xx

I started for ages at your soa thinking something struck a chord... and then realised its just that your wage is exactly the same as mine :o I am obviously in holiday mode

I was just wondering how you find having a lodger? I have thought about it, but I am worried it will be intrusive as my house isn't very big. I am now just considering a move nearer work to save fuel costs.

I can't see anything helpful to add looking at your soa - you seem very sorted :)

We are on about £61k when you take into account the 2nd job OH has.....so just outside the brackets for tax credits!

The lodger for us works ok, but then it has to really doesn't it!! I think it is a case of we *make* it work out!

Of course, we would much rather have the house to ourselves, but the extra income is pretty much a necessity!
