Friend of mine had a similar problem.....her daughter aged 9 apparently moved from kent to Newcastle with a couplle who happened to have the same names as my friend and her then (different surnamed) partner-and the odds of there been a couple with exactly the same names as the names weren't especially common were pretty low.
Tax credits wouldn't have it that they'd made a mistake even when she visited the local tax off ice with daughter in tow
Not much happening here-waiting for the cheapy boiler service from n-power, DS started 6th form yesterday at a new school and so far so good likes it-and idiot ex OH is still in Eastern Europe having left internet banking gizmo at home so I have £10 to last me until he gets back and transfers the child support money that was due on 26th -probably Wednesday. I wouldn't mind so much if he'd told me so I could have juggled things a bit <sigh>
N-power said they were going to take the money for the service when I booked it-better check they have or it could be a tad embarassing !! Bleah

WELL DONE    all round then. But a little part of me would still keep it as the emergency fund for a month or two to make sure they suddenly didn't want it back.....

I am going to pay it off the HSBC card.....the worst that will happen is that we have to borrow it back off that card if they ever want it back. While they decide that, it will at least save me a bit of interest.

But she seemed quite adamant that it was correct. Apparently it covers the time I was self employed. She had all the figures in front of her and they tally with my accounts etc, so it should be ok!!

Woo hoo - 70 boxes will be coloured in this evening :D Oh, and the one I still have to do for my quidco money this morning :D

Oh my god hypno thats great it sure is a lot? You using it for hsbc? or emergancy funds in isa?

I rang tax credits today really dont get them baiscally as soon as someone earns 27000 a year up to £52000 they get exactly same amount! How does this make sense I ask? Im no better off now not working as my entitlements the same as when I wasim hoping they will give me 3months backdated which would be big help and then slightly more as starting so later in finacial year but not sure.

I have been busy making bags and trying to sell sell sell im finding I worry baout money more now I dont have definate income and get bit down but coming on here cheers me up and motivates me to stick with it.

Hubbys paid £600 of his crdeit card today which is good.

Well, I have paid it off the HSBC card - that balance now sits at £2327.75 so is a lot more attractive, and now I may well be able to get that one cleared by Christmas :D

Yes, they have been told that I now earn too much for tax credits....they agreed but still paid me £53 for the month that I was not working at the start of the tax year.......

I have never understood tax credits, never pretended to.....so on the assumption it didn't ever make that much difference to our pay packet (I didn't qualify before I went self employed for the majority of the time), and of course we don't qualify for WTC or anything like that, I just left it as it was.

It has knocked about 6 weeks off the snowball and makes my signature feel a whole lot brighter!!

I have kept back £30 for a takeaway at the weekend :o

gailey, £600 to the credit card is a good amount. You will get there.
