I always wondered what £86 a day meant is that from salary plus extras so 7*86= £592 a month in debts but I suppose you got morgae and bills on top too. I thourght you had been paying more than that especially with speed egg was paid off therefore beating your £86 a day target!

The target is to pay £86 a day off the capital of the debt - so that means finding £2600 a month PLUS the interest that accrues.

That is extra to the mortgage and bills etc.

My minimum payments are about £1400 which is mainly capital plus some interest, so I am trying to double my minimum payments in order to get the debt down quicker........which when you consider my take home pay is £1922 is still quite a chunk to find.

    Yes I have a library fines fund.......long story........but true :o

doh just eralised £592 is weekly amount! That odes eesm high considering 2600 is higher than yout take home and does not even include morgage and bills.

But I guess the struggles worth it to be out of debts sooner, When hsbc is paid you be down to 44 k!

Hope libary fines not too much!

Library fines currently stand at £124

The computer wants to charge me for lost books that I have returned. About 7 or 8 of them in turn. The guy at the library acknowledges that they have been returned - he was there when they were handed in, but for some reason the computer doesn't get the same message.

It is with the "recovery dept" at the mo, but the chap is on holiday for a fortnight so we can't sort it out until he gets back - his sidekick didn't seem to know what to do about it either.

I don't mind paying for late return of books, and I have in all fairness lost one of the books which I have agreed to pay for, but I am not paying for the other 7 which have been handed in!!

But common sense doesn't obviously come into it when "Computer says Nah".......

So, yes, I have a library fine fund going.......because I don't want to have any sort of court action taken for the sake of something as stupid as this. hopefully it will be resolved easily but I am just being ultra cautious I think.

Right, I am all emotional at the Olympics coming to a close - it happens every time.....blubbing away!!!

Along with the tears comes the realisation that next time the Olympics are on, I will be debt free and well towards moving to our dream house. In fact I may even be watching it from my new front room.........!

    Flippin heck!!!
