I shouldn't really be posting here cos it wasn't a boring day
GCSE results day......DS did well-only one A loads of Bs and a couple of Cs .
Dropped into the new school to confirm the Cs didn't mess with his average too much and they didn't BUT turns out school has Josh's new statement written by some old bag who knew Josh for 2 weeks when she wrote it and apparently thinks all kids with Aspergers should go to special schools-and they were all prepared to withdraw the offer of a place !!! Eeeek ! All sorted now after meeting and he has his place but made for a stressful afternoon.
Bought DS a secondhand laptop for school-a bargain at £60 -or would have been if he hadn't left it in the cab on the way to new school ARGH
Had some technical problems too so can't work tonight-so decided to give up-order delivery pizza and slump on the sofa and recover.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Well done Josh on the GCSE's :T :T :T Not so good about the laptop but hey ho  Can't believe the lady said that about kids with Aspergers, thats really shocking
The kids I've met with it are generally very bright, they may have problems integrating socially sometimes but theres no reason they should need to go to a special school

Hi everyone..been busy on here today:
Nice pressie for DHs birthday Olive he will love it and very MSE.
well done Surfbabes DD on passing her theory test
Sorry the news wasn't good about your knee Shaun and congratulations on your new son..he's gorgeous....have you phoned the cab firm to see if the cabbie found it or they may have handed it in to the police station.
Hypno...hope your meeting goes well tonight and you find that you've made loads of money xx
Well done on your GCSEs Josh.0 -
It's all in writing Jo so I'll be following up bigtime with the education department. She actually quoted me -except they were things I didn't say.
I'm even more sure we've made the right decision with the school now as they actually listened to what I said and made the decision there and then.
Went back to the cab rank -couldn't see the driver and they got control to put a call out for the driver (ie asked for driver who had done that particular job) but no response-so will try again tomorrow.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

A belated goodbye to the Egg card - congratulations, and those totals in your sig look great too. Glad you're having a good week off, I've been trying to keep track of the Olympics on the BBC website when I get a chance at work so I've seen bits, but with no sound and not the best idea when you're talking to someone whose messed up their A levels..
I've got a week off in September as I'll loose the holiday otherwise (and there's no way I'm letting that happen!) and we were going to go away for a couple of days, but OH has decided he's too busy with work to so I'm going to be very MSE, stay at home and save the money until he's less busy and we can enjoy a little break properly and in the mean time have already arranged 3 mystery shops for that week, not bad in 24 hours.Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

Evening!!! Just got back in from downloads meeting - with the set up costs, we are not yet rich......too much paid to google in order to get people to the site.......BUT we are in profit.
So, the idea is that we have to do lots of work on getting traffic through to the site without incurring google's extortionate adwords costs. We have a plan of action, and I have work to do before our next meeting in a fortnight.
It seems that once people get to our site, they are parting with their hard earned cash......so we are quietly confident that we can make some reasonable money out of it if we put the work in now..........:D
duchy - good news on the gcse results and I hope the school thing/laptop saga etc hasn't been toooooo stressful for you all!
Miss Bez - just think.....when the Olympics is in London you will be watching far more than 5 hours a day, because it will be real time........YEAH!!!!!!! No time delay and middle of the night stuff :T
YL - I agree with the sound on the olympics - I had it on stream when I was at work last week with the sound off.....not quite the same!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Well I wouldn't mind some shameless promoting here! :A
If it's useful, I can send all manners of people over there. If only to get the hit level up so Google promote you higher!:beer: Debt Free since July 2011 and it feels good!
Now it's all about finding a deposit for a house!

Good morning!
Payday today for me - so I need to sit down with pen paper and calculator and work out what is going where so I can see what I have left to find/spend for the month. OH doesn't get paid for another week so I won't know the full picture for September, but I can make a start.
Happy Friday to you all!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Hi Walshy! Promote shamelessly all you like!! I have to admit I leave all the techie stuff to one of the boys.....I don't pretend to understand it at all! They have asked me to write some articles for e-zines and stuff so that is what I will do! I will put the link to the website on my profile later today.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes.
