I think I've just arranged THE most brilliant birthday pressie for Popeye, and if he isn't in England in November I can off load the tickets easy peasy
I've got tickets for a special evening at the local uni's Astronomy Dept. We get to look through big telescopes and everything. And the tickets cost £3 for our 2 hour trip and include refreshments, and we're in small groups. He would absolutely LOVE it(if he can get here:p )
(Can't post this on my challenge thread, cos he reads that one......)0 -

OO that sounds like a fab present and very MSE too :T
The only 70s adverts I remember are for sweets and fizzy drink.....oh and smash potatoes.

I'm SO excited!!!
I've been looking out for the tickets for ages following an astronomy discussion once on another thread.......I wish I could thank the poster that made me think of it. Popeye loves all that sort of stuff. I can discern a bear from a pole star but not much more
The ads on African TV are of the same ilk that our 70's ads were. "Buy this, It's GOOD"0 -
The advert sounds ... 70s.... :rotfl: the astronomy tickets sound *fab*, they really do. I'm rubbish at telling which one the pole star is, but I know Cassiopeia, and the Pleiades. I have trouble spelling them, but I know them! :rotfl:
Lovely idea.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Hmm, wouldn't it be good if your download sales brought you in £712.31, Hypno?!
When do you get your share? Or have you and I didn't go back far enough in the diary to read about it!
I cannot believe how much you've got done on your week off and there's still one more day to go. So far this week I've managed to mark one lot of Jack the Ripper coursework (and yes for the first time in three years I got Jack described as a CEREAL killer). This is rubbish because I need to be able to do so much more in a week. I think watching the Olympics has been too distracting (5 hours of watching per day is okay, right?)
