When I lived in Poland for a year, most of the flats for families were small 1 or 2 bed places.

  • You have given us all loads to think about and have probably helped more than you realise. I didn't want to come across as a moaner. Just gets a bit frustrating sometimes. Cheers for the comments..

I can totally sympathise with your situation.
Years ago we were posted to Germany with the Armed Forces. We ended up in a 2 bed (the second bedroom was the size of a cupboard), 3rd floor flat. I hated it with a passion. When our second child came along, things went from bad to worse. Although we were in the "lucky" situation of the Army offering us a bigger FLAT  , we declined as the place they offered us was in some sort of ghetto.
The stress and headache that inappropriate housing can cause, no news to me, but fortunately just a haunt from the past now.

Where in the UK do you live? Have you had a look at your council's LHA rates? Maybe that could open the door to the alternative of private rentals.

Just one more little thing reference a previous post concerning children:
I cannot stand comments that are so anti children. We have two lovely children, we work, pay our taxes (more than plenty) and our children receive the best upbringing and education possible.
And absolutely everybody can do likewise, when given a fair chance. :p
