Hi how do I stop xp from switching from browser page to browser page ? I usually have a few browsers open and while I am waiting for a clicked link to open on one page I go to another but xp automatically switches back to the first when the clicked link is opening , this is annoying aspecially if I am typing someting , how can I get it to stay on the page I am on until I click another myself?

Why do you have multiple browsers open? Join the "Tab revolution" and use IE7 or Firefox or Opera. (It's much more resource friendly as well)"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Well then I don't think there's an easy solution in managing the priority of resources and task switching in XP. Don't know how anyone can live without tabs. I don't see how you can "not like" tabs when it's no different than having multiple browser windows open (except it's less effort to open and switch between them). Have you given them a decent try, you're making life deliberately difficult for yourself by using separate windows instead of tabs."She is quite the oddball. I don't like tabs either.
As you say, it's no different really, just moves all the tabs into one window...And I don't like that...dunno why.
To be fair, I've never really given it a "proper go" - but I guess I just don't see the point...0 -

Freeing up resources, UI speed increase, opening new pages faster. That's enough tangible points for me.(If you have ten things open at once in addition to the browser it's sure a lot easier to select different browser tabs than windows)

I "have" tried tabs and they were no faster infact I kept closing all the tabs by mistake sometime , its just another window really , theres no secret its just displayed in a different way so how can it speed things up , anyway I am not arguing the toss about tabs all day.0

They take up less resources because there's only one instance of the application running whereas with separate windows it is a separate loading of the application each time. As for UI increase in speed there can be numerically less clicks and there's less "mouse distance" for navigation.
Anyway back OT: Are you sure the pages you're loading have finished loading completely before you go to another page (i.e. switching back when that page has finished loading)?"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Are you using IE? If so which version. To be honest this has never happened to me. Perhaps if you give me the urls you're trying to access I could try it as well and try some solution
To the tab crazy MSEs, I like tabs too, however, I think firefox is way better than IE7 :THi how do I stop xp from switching from browser page to browser page ? Actually thinking about it, it may be worth the OP opening up the same pages in multiple instances of Firefox or Opera just to eliminate or confirm whether it IS browser specific. But definitely worth knowing whether OP uses IE6 or IE7. Besides the whole tab thing, IE6 was a very poor browser generally (in security, memory and general handling of pages).
(Personally I tend to use IE7 most, but I genuinely do use FF and Opera as well, usually for different things, IE for general, FF for cashback and keeping cookies, Opera for specific project research)."She is quite the oddball.
