TalkTalk contract question?

I am currently in the process of changing BB supplier. I am currently with BT.
I have been looking at TalkTalk they contacted me last night to say that their free BB was available in my area, so if I switched my telephone line rental to them I would have line rental, unlimited weekend and off peak calls and broadband all for £13.97. Sounds good.
My problem is that we are moving in the near future but don't know when, could be anything up to 5 months away. After I explained they said that I would be able to take my existing line and contract with me when I moved.
The problem arose when I asked what would happen if the property did not have a telephone line and I was unwilling to pay for installation. To this the 'sales rep' said the 12 month contract could be cancelled WITHOUT any cancellation fee being applied.
She then went on to say it would all be in the contract once I had signed up. I would like to know if any existing TalkTalk customers could verify this is in fact in the contract, or if there are stipulations I wasn't made aware of.
Thanks in advance

Beware of signing up before you read the contract!
You will definitely be signing up to a 12 or 18 month minimum contract, with termination fees to pay if you leave them for any reason before the minimum period is up.0 -
This was my point, I am sure there is nothing in the contract that says IF there is no land line in a new property then cancellation fees are waved. I was hoping someone could confirm this so I know exactly where I stand when the sales rep tells me otherwise.0

"If you are moving home, are still within the 18-month period set out in your contract, and wish to cancel your TalkTalk service instead of transferring it to your new address, then you will be charged the LOWER of either £70 or the cost of your service for the remainder of the contract"“I look like Spiderman at a funeral”~ Karl Pilkington0

I am due to move before xmas an therefore will not be able to complete the contract in my current property. I have not taken the contract out as yet.
They have said that IF I did, should i move i can take the contract with me.
IF however there is no landline installed in the property i choose to move to (as yet undecided) then I can cancel the contract without paying a fee or buying out the contract. Apparantly this is mentioned in the TalkTalk contract.
As I don't have one i want to know if there is any truth in what the sales rep is saying, or whether she is simply trying to make her commission by mis-leading me.0 -
Only get out of jail card is if you are on a "free" broadband package in your current property and move to an area that does not have TalkTalk's equipment in the exchange.
TalkTalk do have a home movers team now but still having "teething" troubles. See this for more - http://www.talktalkmembers.com/content/view/114/68/“I look like Spiderman at a funeral”~ Karl Pilkington0 -
Would have to add that due to their forum being semi-official you wouldn't really want to use any advice on there as being gospel, plenty wriggle room for TalkTalk if things awry.“I look like Spiderman at a funeral”~ Karl Pilkington0

AFAIK, your contract does not continue, it starts anew - but no cessation charges. The first thing you want want to check in having identifiede a property is what is available at that exchange.
I will check further the ts&cs and post back if you want re: continuation of contract or anything else.0 -
Thanks, will await the update. Great info here guys/ gals0

I can find no info on continuing a contract therefore I guess its a new contract cos its a new number, new address etc. Declan gave you a link to the HM info. You can check out the TT T&C's (bottom of homepage). You might also think of visiting the TT Members Forum for additional Homemovers info - there's a Members Tab on the homepage. Mistakes can still happen in the process and BT O-R still carry out the physical switch in the exchange.0
