New foundation for 21 year old

My daughter is spending a fortune on foundations, at least 2 a month - & often expensive ones too.
She is looking for the ultimate one for her...... HELP
Shes 21 & has fair slightly-freckled skin, pretty clear, the odd spot now & then.
She thinks they all look too yellow or orange toned & other complaints.
She has tries, Estee Lauder double wear, a few Benefit ones, All the No.7 ones, Mineral ones, Body shop ones, NewID one, off the top of my head.
I love No.7 intelligent colour, but I think she likes more coverage than this. God only knows why
I've told her foundation is not for covering the odd spot, that concealer is, she has the Elemental Beauty powder one, its fab (thanks Jeanieblue;) ). She wants a foundation that lasts.
Any young girls with similar skin found an amazing foundation?
I'm off to buy the new Laura Mercier mineral powder at Spacenk on Saturday, I'm wondering if a Laura Mercier one would suit her? They are susposed to be great.
She likes the high end stuff (wonder where she gets that from:whistle: ), so expensive as you like. Still be MSE if she can find one expensive one & STICK to it:mad: In fact she probably wouldn't even like the cheaper ones (unless someone knows something incredible) because I think make-up is all about snazzy seductive packaging too, I know I love things in nice packaging.
So PLEASE PLEASE help me stop her wasting money on expensive mistakes, whats amazing for a fair slightly-freckled young skin.

One of my favourites (and at a reasonable price) lately is the palest Jemma Kidd Makeup School compact foundation. It's not at all orange or yellow, costs £16, lasts tons longer than the similar Benefit compacts.
You can find it at larger Boots stores or online.
I only tried it once because Boots were giving out £5 off the range vouchers about a year ago, and I've worn it ever since (I've bought 4 in a year and I wear the stuff every day, so I think it's a bargain).
It's really hard finding a natural-looking foundation for pale, freckled skin... hope your daughter has some luck.0 -
The only foundation I can get on with is Clinique Superpowder Double Face Powder. I have quite pale skin and I find the Matte Beige colour perfect. It's not very heavy coverage, but gives a lovely finish. I'd recommend going to a Clinique counter and getting them to try some of their foundations on your daughter so she can get the finish she's after.
I also like the Clinique Superbalanced liquid foundation as well, which I use for special occassions when I want a heavier coverage.
Hope that helps.
(I'm 25 by the way, so a bit older but I've used Clinique for about 4 years now):DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator

has she been to a perscriptives counter and done their colour matching thing? i've never done it but it is meant to be a good way to get a perfect match. i recently discovered RMK - it's a japanese make and does foundations for really pale skin (even clinique can't match my the paleness of my skin!). now it isn't cheap - not at all. but it does seem to go quite far. they also have lots of amazing colours of things like nail varnish and eye shadow so it looks quite 'young'. now i think it's only stocked in selfridges.... so this is not a money saving suggestion really, but i'd sooner spend money on a good foundation with the savings i'm making on the rest of my skincare atm with the whole OCM thing. they did have a special gift thing when i bought foundation recently, which makes it a little more worthwhile. they don't appear to have an english website though.:happyhear0

Thats the thing, shes pale, but doesn't like a pale pale (goth type) foundation, shes not quite that pale anyway.
But shes in the 1 or 2 numbers.
Didn't think of Perscriptives, they are custom made aren't they, so could be just what she needs:D
I wonder if you can get Perscriptives in Kingston?
I could get my Laura Mercier there rather than Spacenk in Cobham:D0 -
i use clinique super double face powder usually and on occaions used the superfit foundation. i didn't like the yellowy tones of other brands and so got colour matched - and hence introduced, to clinique. they do many colours in each range of 'tones' eg nude, beige, golden etc. its worth a visit !0

Not expensive, but my 19 year-old DD with fair skin loves the Maybelline Dream Matte range. She has several shades and blends them according to whether it's for day or nighttime wear and seasonally (lighter shades in winter).
Mousse or powder blushers blend in well, too.

Laura Mercier foundation primer is the answer!
I used it yesterday morning, put my mineral makeup on (Bare Escentuals), went out after work and didn't need to touch it up once all day or night even though it was about a million degrees in the club
And foundation shouldn't be like a mask

They're not expensive, but you could order all the different Avon ones, try them, and return any that are no good for a full refund.Their returns policy is great, any item can be returned used or unused withing 90 days.If you don't have a rep there's a facility on their website to find one.
I also recommend a foundation brush which makes such a difference. You end up applying a thin veneer of it, rather than slapping it on.0 -
I like clinique superfit - my skin is also very pale and slightly pinky toned so I find getting a nice foundation that doesn't make me either yellow and jaundiced, or white, a real challenge. They do a shade called Petal which is quite nice. The coverage is also pretty good - I'm a similer age to your daughter and have been using it for a couple of years0

She always uses a brush.
BUT I did hear a makeup artist on the TV say fingers were the best thing to apply foundation with, as they warmed it while blending it in.0
