I am the perent but when you see what they serve at schools you would not eat the c**p and would not expect my kids to eat it it's not about spoilet kids it's about been about making sure your kids get the best and not the crap that schools dish out i understand that different schools serve different meals but try my school and free meals just don't do it.

It's amazing that i ask for advice and get slagged off for been a bad perent you people have to look back and think of other people who just carn't manage what other manage and think how lucky you are.

I like to think that as a single dad of 2 i do a good job and don't deserve to battering that i have been dished today my kids get what i didn't get and are happy to be with me than my ex

    the sentence i quoted was

"It would save me a arm and a leg but not worth the hassel of my kids kicking off and making a fuss"

you didnt mention the quality - just that it would save you money. im sure you do a great job as a single dad - just like single mums do (;))

The quality that they serve is dismal and like i said i would not give to my DOG so i fort this it would speak for it's self

sory to have a dig but i asked for advice and get slagged off

There is more single motheres out there and as a single dad i would think that the advice would be positive not negitve

it makes no difference to me if you're a man or a woman, a single parent is a single parent is a single parent. and just because i asked "who the adult was" is not a slagging off.

Your CAB should have some funding if your on a low income, as Barclays have given them a budget to help the poor who are not on income support, your local council usually issues you with clothing grants for uniforms if your on benefits and eligible.

I know they definitely can help you because I contacted my MP regarding this and was told the CAB have funding, last year my sister received about £200 in vouchers which was a godsend as she works 16 hours a week and receives £20 a week more than income support, then the council takes over £50 towards rent and council tax, then she has to pay for school meals and bus fares and uniforms and a school holiday is something her children will never see, or any holiday unless other family members take them away, so she loses over £80 a week for gaining £20, yet people on income support in the same situation as her get everything for FREE and they say go to work, the Government will help you!!!!!!!!!! still waiting to see it.
