Topshop student discount question...

Hiya! I'm about to spend a large sum of money (well it is to me!) at Topshop. I didn't get an NUS card last year as I never thought i'd be spending enough money to make good use of it. Obviously now I can't apply to get one until September, but I need this stuff now and a 10% discount would be handy!!
Does it HAVE to be an NUS card, or can I use my College photo I.D?

Topman have accepted my normal Uni Student ID before and so have Burton. So I guess Topshop will do the same, just go in and ask them.0

I bought an NUS Card last year but whenever ive gone for Student Discount i've just used my University ID Card which has always worked, including in TOPSHOP.
Worked so well that i didnt actually pick my NUS Card up from the SU until April this year. I got such a funny look when i went for it, considering i ordered it in September.0 -

Actually the Arcadia group have just had official warnings that they must take only cards with an expiry date and not standard issue uni library/access cards. No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

How do apply for this0

Most places take a student ID which has a photo and is dated. I didn't have any problems using my ID card from my postgrad course which wasn't an NUS affilate.0

People are thinking about this all wrong.
Although arcadia say theyre being all strict... you gotta remember its generally students themselves working at these places. And young people (Im 25.. can i say "young people"?) have a tendancy to want to bend rules.
Just be nice to them, they dont scan your card or anything, you just flash it.
Mcdonalds tend not to be so flexible... cos theyre generally locals, townies and chavs, who have a dislike of students, and so like to get their jollies where they can.Credit card: [STRIKE]£2533.30[/STRIKE] £0 as of July '16!Overdraft: [STRIKE]£1700[/STRIKE]£0 as of July '16!Aim:Save for a working trip to New Zealand leaving late 2016/ early 2017!0 -
I think they should let you have the discount, I've seen loads of people in my local Topshops who get discount just with their college or uni cards.I Shop Therefore I Am0

Arcadia group has always been student friendly in my experience, sometimes not even wanting to see a student card!
Only negative is once I got insulted because I used the discount on something that was reduced to 'just a fiver'. I thought the 50p was worth saving. Was I being too tight???They say you can't put a value on life... but I live it at half price!0
