Masonic, his max bid is pretty high and may well take it over the reserve if someone were to bid it up enough. I emailed him last night to check if he had used the right form to retract feedback, but I've not had a response yet. Will phone him in a bit to check.
Allison is quite right. If the reserve has not been met, then no one has bid that high. I don't think you have anything to worry about, but as a last resort, you could get your dad to report the seller to ebay, saying he's seen the item and it's not as described.
  • Its quite right, if your dad had bid enough to cover the reserve, the auction would automatically start the bidding at the reserve amount. Due to the fact that the reserve price has not been met, you really don't have a problem, you have not met the stated reserve price and as such are under no obligation to buy it.

well I've just wrung my dad and he said that the three options weren't relevant for the reason he wanted to retract his bid, so he sent ebay an email. Doh! So I asked him if I could do it for him and he agreed so I have retracted his bid under option that description been changed.

So allks well that ends well! Moral of story? Listen to your daughters!!

    Thanks for all your help!
