With so many people forced into renting on revolving 6th month contracts, it is a brave tenant who tells their landlord where to get off; especially if they are "settled" in their property.

In addition to general small maintenance items. As a business I would say that they make provision for future replacement of bathrooms, kitchens, double glazing and heating systems. Unlikely they work on the amatuer basis of cash i.e. rent less expenses for the year. As houses over an extended timeframe could potentially incur all sorts of expenses.

In addition they probably have a service team which will include administration staff as well as tradespeople. .

Similar properties to which one, there are quite a spread there. Bit of a Catch 22 situation if you ask me.

In that village by Folkstone they are selling equivalent properties for £130k. So it would hard to sell a similar property for £190k, to make it worse releasing equity may stop them competitively.

They have a woman that answers the phone and a couple of handymen.

That means that most of the properties in the example have gone up in value then. Anyway, if they are making three hundred pounds per month per property then they are doing okay.
