£200 per property per month looks ridiculously high in fees and repairs.

    How would you know?

    Old news.

Tried and failed to sell their "empire" off, then had to drip feed them out, whilst being propped up by the banks.

Prices down about 2.5% in Kent since this article.

If you own your own home do you estimate that you have paid circa £2.5k on repairs and maintenance over the past year (and, if so, would you say this is a typical year). If you rent, would you estimate that your landlord has paid £2.5k on repairs and maintenance over the past year.

If they are including tax in their sums then it doesn't look quite so bad. Rent for £800, pay out £500, £300 net per property isn't too shabby.

Do you spent 200 a month repairing your house?

These people should have scales of economies as well - probably have a handyman or to to look after the 800 properties. If they are letting letting agents charge them top whack for it all, they really are dim.

    More analysis than news.

Theres no new news. Judith wilson "property expert" site went "dark" in 2009.

I suspect its not all rosy for the wilsons.

    Did they do repairs?

And worse, as the cracks in their property empire start to widen, a number of tenants are emerging with claims they have been mistreated by the Wilsons. Saying they had been too afraid to come forward before, tenants now complain they have been ignored when they ask for vital repairs to heating or plumbing.
RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.
Read the sticky on the House Buying, Renting & Selling board.

I'm sure there are two sides to the story. I mean, seriously, would you be scared of the Wilsons? - I'd find it hard to keep a straight face if they turned up in their matching Burberry casual wear.

I don't think you quite understand.

The wilsons could easily evict them.

They are not the Krays. What makes them different from any other landlord? - have they been granted special eviction priviledges from the Queen?

I think you'll find tenants aren't generally such a spineless bunch as you suggest. Most will be more than willing to speak out about problems with maintenance. I'm sure you'll find with 1500+ tenants there are a few crackpots amoung them, as with any business.

What exactly is it I'm not understanding?
