Please help a useless woman who has burnt the bottom of her saucepan with stewed apple for a toddler who wouldn't stop shouting long enough for me to turn the b#~**=y thing off.
How can I get it clean?

Try soaking it with a scoup of washing powder and a little water overnight, and hopefully it will all come off......good luck!

Or use cola and bring to the boil and leave to cool, then wash as normal."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0

I have reported this post for a sexist remark............
Ha gotcha :rotfl:0 -
If the cola and biological powder fail, try a pneumatic drill or an industrial sander!!! I have exactly the same problem with the pan I so proudly made green tomato chutney in on Sunday. The chutney was salvaged, the pan is destined for the pan graveyard.Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

Boil some rhubarb in it ..I did the same and my Mum told me to do this as recommended by Kim and Aggie, it does work! :rotfl:0 -

Assuming that is due to the acidity of the rhubarb, then I would assume lemon juice or vinegar should also work?"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

Boil some water and onion peelings in the pan. Leave overnight to cool and hopefully in the morning the burnt food will scrape off easily.0

Thanks to all of you for helping. I haven't got any cola or biological washing powder in the house, so I think I will try the vinegar or the onion trick.
Also, I have to say I am useless when it comes to housey-type-tips but it's not cos I'm a woman, it's just cos I'm me!!! (But my family love me!)Named after my cat, picture coming shortly0
