To plain jane - if it bothers you why do you read this forum. It clearly says 'living with bankruptcy'. If you're not living with it then go away.

I fail to see why you are being congratulated for making yourself bankrupt. I would call it more 'embarrassing'. Spending money you didnt have in the first place is irresponsible. Why should you not have to pay back the money that you have already spent/had, like most of the people on here have to.

When you have experienced the absolute rock bottom place that is the time before making the biggest decision you will ever make - one which will affect you directly for at least 6 years and may indirectly for much longer - one which may alienate you from friends and family - one which may end with you losing many of the things you take for granted, including your home.....then you may come on here and spout your self righteous cr*p
    Until then, go away.

    Thank you :p

PS congrats to you Pinta welcome to the rest of your life.

I too wonder why people read this board unless they have a close interest in BR unless (like me) your life has been directly affected by it!!

How can anyone voice an opinion unless they have an intrinsic understanding of the distress & heartache that making the BR decision brings!!

Pinta....I congratulate you on the guts to make that decision & getting through to the other side. None of BR is easy or ever done intentionally as we all intend to repay our debts but misfortune can strike at any time.....one day I hope (Jane070) you will not find yourself in that position.

Pinta you have the support of those who KNOW how you are feeling.

    Take care Hun,

  • Thankyou to all of the NICE !!!!!! people who replied , Jayne070 you are perfectly entitled to your opinion as is everyone on here but if your so financially secure and rock steady why are you lurking on the bankruptcy forum ? Or are you one of those people who like to mock others downfall ? .If so you should not as you never know what will come knocking on your door in the future !! be it bad luck or bailiffs trust me you would then find this forum and all the good people on here a much needed point of support and guidance. Bankruptcy is NOT a nice thing to have to go through as everyone will tell you but when you are at rock bottom with no-where to turn then bankruptcy IS the only way !!!!!!

whats your problem? do you not ever make mistakes or are you perfect? I have no debt what so ever and i am quite well off .but hey i dont go round judging people who find themselves in difficulty and need a lifeline. get off your high horse and open your eyes.all this credit has been thrown at people and its been government policy for it to be easy for people to get easy credit and because of this policy it also follows that people will get in trouble financially.you really need to understand that it is easy to judge and be smug but you never know whats round the corner for yourself..what if your husband runs off with a 21 year old and leaves you high and dry.well these things happen so dont judge anyone maybe judge the banks for throwing money around like confetti for the last ten years...ps this world is better off without people like you..

And in the unlikely event that i did go bankrupt i would celebrate having a big strain and worry lifted off my head..have you ever seen people trying to rob peter to pay paul..they look ill just with the worry of it ....so do me a favour and grow up..
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.
  • WELL SAID geoffky !!!!!!!!!!! Decent words and a very gracious attitude.:T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T . If only more people ( jayne070 ) had that view

Know one is proud of being BR just relieved. It is not an easy decision to go to court and tell a total stranger that basically you cant pay your bills.
People come on this site for support and advise not to be slagged off by people who have no idea what they are going through.
When you have been there an lost everything then come back and have your say then.
    Have a nice day
