    sent the last dvd back to them recorded delivery

    no problems - account cancelled upon receipt of dvd

    I just wanted to say, I took out the Lovefilm 3 months free trial in early July and cancelled it yesterday online, right after posting my last 2 dvd's back. My first "paying" day would have been the 14th. I just got an email back to say that my account was now cancelled (after it had been showing pending receipt of dvds). So no problem there!

    I just took out the Blockbuster's 1 month trial now too. :D
    Any other offers I should know about? :beer:
  • I haven't read the entirety of the thread. There's plenty of threads and information available eslewhere on this subject.

    I'm assuming there's both good and bad reviews however my own personal experience has been very good. I've had 3 free trials with lovefilm 2 of which were the 90 days, also set it up for my father who had zero problems.

    What I did after reading everywhere, probably like yourself about the pros and cons of lovefilm trials was simply

    1) 5 Days before my trial was up I posted the dvds I currently has at home by recorded delivery. Just incase I needed to proove they received them, if your really worried you could always do special delivery. There's also a certificate of posting which is free. Basically a simple method of covering yourself in extreme cases.

    2) Same day as returning those dvds, cleared all dvds from my lovefilm rental list as to ensure nothing else would be posted out.

    3) 1 or 2 days later, basically having kept checking my lovefilm account, you can see when they've received your last lot of dvds back, at this point I'd then cancel my account online by going to my account and clicking "cancel". You can do this online at certain times, I think it's late at night, basically when you can't call them.

    and that's that, no problems.

  • lmoa I still get the service.... that I canceled but I haven't paid for ooooh about a year. Hope they never catchup with me.

    Those of you who have taken up 3 for 1 offers a number of times, have you had this in your T & Cs?
    4. Existing subscribers or those who have previously had their account reactivated following a cancellation and have received a 3 for 1 month or 2 for 1 month offer are not eligible.
    I have an offer of 3 for 1 month, but have previously had one, making me ineligible. I guess they are hoping that you don't read the small print & hook you in to paying for a couple of months before you notice!

    N.B. Can't quite understand why this is on the consumables board :confused:
  • Have you notice lovefilm no longer let you edit your own address?? I just moved house and rang up to change address apparently the previous owner was also a member so they want to change me straight even though my trial ends in 1 month time. Be Aware!
