Debate House Prices
In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non MoneySaving matters are no longer permitted. Aaah, I understand the reason you think that's when I first came across you DD - it is when you first came across me, not the reverse.
I refrained from commenting on the lengthy thread in which you posted aggressive and personal attacks on other female posters (although I was tempted), where I first came across you, because I felt they could stand up for themselves perfectly well without any assistance. But it does appear from this thread that you have problems dealing with what you dole out to others.
And Mr Broderick most certainly does NOT have my number, though I know he would dearly love to have it. :rolleyes:0 -

You've certainly been getting around the boards on MSE, I see.
Here's an 'interesting discussion' you started on the savings and investment board:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=10510333#post10510333
which ended up with Martin Lewis intervening personally to lock the thread with the following comments.
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=10523905&postcount=37
This is a rather dangerous and antagonist discussion.
Let me make a few things clear
1. Posters are responsible for their own posts
2. This is an open forum as is prominently displayed on every page
3. The rules and terms and conditions are clear on this.
4. Giving what is legally defined as financial advice is not permitted on these forums.
5. This forum is not monitored. If you spot an abuse or inappropriate post please report it to abuse@moneysavingexpert.com . Never assume it'll be seen - over 25 paperback books worth of information are written on this forum every day. We operate a report system not a monitoring system.
6. Complaining about what's done on the forum isn't as productive as reporting it - if its in breach of the rules or terms.
Hope this clears things up
Kind regards
martinI agree that there are really nice folk on the housing boards, yourself included, but you're all overshadowed by the 'fringe' doomstars and HPC fanatics.--
Every pound less borrowed (to buy a house) is more than two pounds less to repay and more than three pounds less to earn, over the course of a typical mortgage.0 -

I wanted to start a valid discussion about people offering financial advice when they have no financial background and no financial qualifications. The thread was killed because people like you and Carol (self-deluded, self-appointed financial experts took exception to my remarks and turned the thread into an argie-bargie one)
Sound familiar? Oh yes, all argie-bargie started here because Carol was doing the same.
Your threads, on the other hand are simple doom-mongery posts regurgetated or copied directly from the Daily Mail. Yawn.
Why not post into the DFW thread and ask what they think of you there? You may think you're a big man on the housing forum, but you're a complete joke there. :rotfl:
I'm no expert - as I've been happy to agree - and have never visited the thread you mentioned let alone commented on it, as you insinuated.
You sound like a very angry man. Calm down; as you yourself pointed out, it's only an internet forum and we don't (mercifully!) know the 'real you'.
Why not focus on posting some threads to advise or inform others, instead of merely attacking others? You never know - you might enjoy it......0 -

TBF DD I woudn't take any advice given on these boards without doing my own research on suggestions whther the person has the little signature saying they are an IFA /solicitor/surveyer/mortgage adviser/Elvis /whatever not.
advice given here (which is is subject to a disclaimer) I use to point me in the direction of where to look for the right thing for me to do, not as instruction for me to do just tht with money/life decisions. any one who did is as foolish as................someone who took a 25% mortgage on a house 5 times their income last year :rotfl:
I can't speak for anybody else, but I am one of what I shoud imagine are the majority of users...someone who comes for more information than they can contribute themselves.0 -

No one gets any decent financial advice, and no one gets any help and support on the housing thread. The regulars use it to push their own agendas and to have petty arguments on whether house prices with recover in 2 years or 10 years. Everyone else views the Housing board as a madhouse and won't post here, we even get a lot of DFWs posting on the MFW baord asking mortgage advice because they're too scared to come over to these boards.
I got a lot of help when I asked for it on the housing board.
I read DFW a lot and I don't think any of the women or decent men that post on those boards would be happy with the comments you have been making about women.0 -
dithering dad...still living away from your family?
i wonder why you would not welcome a crash as then you could afford to live in london in a house with your family...and not be stuck in that flat away from them all week..It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -

This is just soooo rude that I have to respond.
I think we all know which man is the big joke on MSE:rolleyes:. You allude that many people feel like you but other than yourself DD, I am not aware of anyone else being rude to !!!!!!? - you are alone on this. I have read many threads in which posters have debated many issues with !!!!!!? but I have never seen anyone aim personal insults at him in the way you have done. Furthermore, I have never, ever seen !!!!!!? personally insult anyone at all, so I have no idea why you would feel the need to do so? If you disagree with his views why don't you engage him in debate rather than a series of abusive comments? It would also be more engaging for the rests of us....Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you.0
