Card to be used on the internet

I am looking for a card to use on the internet which does not allow more than 200 pounds (roughly) to be withdrawn from my account.
Also I was looking for the best for fraud prevention, security and I always pay off any money owing on credit cards so I was looking at egg, mint or capital one.

Any suggestions,

Thanks.

Egg is good because of all the cashback deals with online retailers.

If you are worried about fraud, egg is also good as since the statements are electronic, there is less chance of your post being intercepted and your details becoming compromised.

Their website login doesn't feel as secure as some though.

Remember that you are not responsible under the Consumer Credit Act for fraudulent use of your card, as long as you report it stolen and do not disclose your pin number to anyone.

Follow the above links from Grumbler for the dedicated internet secure card options if you are still worried.

Smile :), it makes people wonder what you have been up to.
  • Technically, I think is is impossible for a standard card to limit the amount you can spend on it as a paper transaction could always go through that could go over your credit limit.

Cahoot webcard - you put your own limit on each transaction. eg if item costs £9.99, limit it to £10. As mentioned above, there are other threads about this card. I find it useful for small transactions with unknown (to me) suppliers, but there is no cashback or other perks, so for larger amounts, regularish payments I take the risk. Spose that's the wrong way round!!!
