Regarding topping up, I usually know what my shopping will come to - pay it in at customer services - walk around doing my shopping and pay at the checkout.
I don't have a direct debit set up and really just pay in at customer services but then I've had this card since it first came out.
I was away working for a month in June and did not use my card during that time. When I got back I had a letter saying I had not used my card ( i.e. not paid anything in ) for a month and I had to use it straight away. I just thought I would mention this to avoid anybody having a problem in future.0 -

Yes I usually spend about £150 on the big shop each week and £30 during the week. We never used to make a list/plan meals/bargain hunt etc and thought this amount was normal, until I read other posts and lots of tips.
I have never looked for bonus points before, but since Ive joined the 'Aug Grocery Challenge' and learnt about 'Deals' and new ways to shop, now things are going to start to change dramatically.Quidco £196 - Voucher Codes £408 - GC Saved £603P.A.D. £[strike]4720[/strike] / £4330- Jan GC £375/Spent £283.78~~~~~~~~~~~0 -
I am really annoyed   !
On Friday I paid my usual £150 in cash onto my Clubcard Plus card via Customer Services at the Tesco store close to where I work. I always credit my Clubacard Plus card on a Friday and usually do it at my local store where it has always been instantly available, but because of one thing and another, I couldn't do it at my local store hence why I had to pay it on at the store near work....
I knew before I made the credit that the balance was almost zero. Anyway I paid the £150 on, bought a few bits and pieces (about a tenner) and paid on CC+, then put £20 diesel in my car and again paid on CC+ and all was hunky dory..... until Saturday.....
I went to my local Tesco and did my weekly shop spending about £115. Handed over my CC+ card and it was rejected
Very embarrassing too!
Went to cash machine to check balance on CC+ card and it said £18 odd overdrawn

So, had to pay for my shopping on debit card (no double points either) which then left £20 in our bank account. Checked my CC+ balance this morning - still not there
Called TPF and they've advised that it can take up to 2 working days for even cash deposits to clear
and that doesn't include Friday   so apparantly I need to wait until Wednesday at the latest - meanwhile I've got no dosh left can't take the kids out today as promised so they're gutted too! And, unless it's there tomorrow we'll be stuck then too!
So be warned - if you pay cash at the Customer Service desk onto your CC+ card - it might not be available for a couple of days.:eek:0 -
When I pay in at customer services I go back outside to the cash machine to check it has gone onto my account so I dont go overdrawn (& end up paying interest).
if there is a cash machine on site worth spending the extra min to do this.
I have found that my DD doesnt go into my accout until about 5th-7th of the month even though the DD is on 1st.0 -

Do you know, I normally do this! But of the 2 cash machines available only one was working! The queue was huge and (more fool me!) I thought, 'well, it's always been ok before I'll risk it'....
Never again - but good advice to others anyway!0 -
This sounds interesting; how do you get one of these? And also, do you have to sign up to a DD or can you just pay in over the counter in the shop?0

Call Tesco Personal Finance (number on tesco.com) and ask for an application form for a Clubcard Plus card - it takes a couple or three weeks or so to set it all up but you'll be getting double points everytime you pay for your shopping or fuel using the card!
You do need to have a Direct Debit set up to pay regular monthly funds onto the card (mine's £10) but then I just top up with cash at the Customer Services desk as and when.
I've just had my first full quarter of Clubcard vouchers after using my Clubcard Plus much of the time and ended up with almost £70 in vouchers (£280 in Deals)!

When you have added money on at Customer service and are unsure if its gone on immediately, just use your mobile and ring the clubcard plus automated balance number 0800 783 8001.
You will need to know your customer number and pin as these are requested. I write it on the palm of my hand or you could store it as someones pretend number in your mobile.Quidco £196 - Voucher Codes £408 - GC Saved £603P.A.D. £[strike]4720[/strike] / £4330- Jan GC £375/Spent £283.78~~~~~~~~~~~0 -
I am an existing customer with TPF and just rang them to arrange to open a Clubcard Plus Account after reading about the double points. They said I would have cancel my existing account, then wait 8 months until I could apply to open a Clubcard Plus account!aftermyownheart :T0

Tel: 08457104010 if you would like to try a clubcard plus card.
A DD is required but this can be for as little as £10 then top your card up at Customer Service.Quidco £196 - Voucher Codes £408 - GC Saved £603P.A.D. £[strike]4720[/strike] / £4330- Jan GC £375/Spent £283.78~~~~~~~~~~~0
