Paying for our wedding when in debt

Hello All

Need to get some idea of if my half cooked idea might work and an answer to a moral question.

After many years my partner has finally decided that she has ironed out enough of my odd wrinkles (no comments about this please) to make an honest man of me. Now this would normally be the joy of most people but the fact that I have £23k of debt looming over me and I am struggling big time to pay it off has put a slight dampner on things. But I the idea I have is simple enough that it just might work.......

I have a blog page currently that I write on and if I have adverts on there I get paid when people click on them or buying something.

My real question is this. Is there any generosity left in this country that people would spare a moment to look at my blog and click around?

Or does this post fall foul of something and it gets removed? If so sorry.

Mr Maximus.
Ok £23k in debt so what. I am paying it off but need to be quicker about it. Any help or ideas are always welcome.

My Debt Free Day will be 1st August 2018! Ouch!

Well your sig is not allowed.

Edit it and take out the link unless you want to upset the mods on these boards.

No, it's not allowed and you should edit your post and your sig and save the mods the bother.

Clicking on these ads just encourages more people to post such stuff.

i don't think there is any need to be so harsh, the blokes only asking, a simple 'no it isn't allowed on here' would've been enough.

Mr Maximus - have you thought about doing some extra money making whilst online such as surveys etc? Have a look at Up Your Income! I have spent the past 4 months working my guts off making extra money for my wedding and finally everything is paid, we're having a very small wedding and its cost us less than £500, about £100 of that is actually our money, the rest is what i made online!

Hardly harsh and more directed at those who encourage these posts by actually clicking the ads.

Didn't know that the signature was not allowed. But shall amend none the less.

Did get 50p made so thanks anyway. Will look at the online survey thing but I tried this route once before. Spent three hours and got £1 so was not exactly productive.

How about explaining to the OH that at this time a lavish expensive wedding is out of the picture and would a registry office wedding do for now, ask all the guests to financially chip in too to help with the costs etc.

If she loves you she should accept this if not then maybe you should put the wedding off until you can do it with all the frills
Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?

There may be better ways for you to save or make money. Why don't you post up your SOA?

P.S. Posting it in debt free wannabe will help you more...
