I use Picasa web albums from Google. You get 1024 MB free storage space. There is also a Picasa program that can be downloaded to your computer and provide a really easy to use photo organiser and "light" editor.
I can send the link to separate albums to my family for easy access (no log-in etc required) for them and I can mark albums as private or public as I choose.
I find it all really easy to use and so does my "not so technical" family!
