Baby website

I'm looking to share photos and videos of my little boy with our family which is spread far and wide across the globe. I've found a number of free websites like babysites.com but in the free option they only have a limited amount of photo storage and no uploading of videos.

Can anyone recommend a good free site that will allow a reasonable amount of photo storage and also videos.

Many thanks

You could use a blogging site like blogger.com, if you use it in conjuction with photobucket it is pretty much limitless and dead easy.

Flickr is great, and you can link to your photos on any website or in emails etc.

It is unlimited space although you can only upload 100K worth of photos a month (I never hit this limit, although it would depend how many photos you are uploading! And I don't upload video either so that would probably contribute.) You can buy a premium account which has no limits for about £12 a year, but I wouldn't bother.

If your camera has a high megapixel count you could try using a free graphics program to resize the images before you upload them, which would then use less space. If you need instruction come back and ask here or try the techie stuff board :)

If you have a Yahoo account you use this to sign up for flickr but you can sign up directly to flickr if you prefer.

    HTH :)

    Oh and linkage: http://www.flickr.com/

Sounds like this has got potential, how exactly would I do this? I didn't realise that you could put videos on photobucket. Does photobucket have security settings so the pics/videos aren't there for all and sundry to see?

you need to go to Blogger.com and create an account and then do the same at Photobucket. Follow the instructions on both accounts and yu will be up and running in minutes.

Photobucket does allow you to mark albums as private this will not allow people to browse them but obviously when you post them on blogger they will be visable to the world.

i have pictures of my baby on facebook, i dont think theres any limit to the amount of photos and you can post videos too, although i've never done this. and they have just added a babybook application where you can write updates on your baby and post photos. i think its really good.

Thanks for this. I'm already on Facebook but don't really want my older relatives on that site to see what I'm upto!

How does it work on Bebo if you want to share the photos/videos you've uploaded - do they have to join or is there an easier way share the pics.
