ok already posted opn another board but thought you lot might be able to help.
Next door but one has a dog that thinks my lawn is its toilet. NDBO refuses to do anything about his dog messing on my yard. Can not put a fence up as we share a path with next door and they wont put a fence up to stop dog (my LL offered to pay but their LL said no) anyway - is there anything i can put down (thats not harmful) that will deter the dog from coming on to my yard? tried yelling to scare it off - didnt work, started growling. Got a little girl who can not play on front yard because this dog just does as he pleases. NDBO doesnt walk it, just shoves it out the house a few times a day

Call the dog warden and report the neighbour and dog.
Or get a shovel - scoop and leave it back on neighbours doorstep
Or both
I know years ago when we were small there was a fella in the street behind us who let his dog poo out side our gate and my mum just shovelled it up and dropped it back round to his - he soon stopped0 -
have you tried washing the area with jeys fluid??
He keeps coming back as thats where the scent is.
I have 4 labs, and all 4 go to the same spot to mess everyday. I know what area I need a shovel.
Could be worth a try
good luck love xxx0 -
What a rude ba$tard your neighbour is!!!!
I'd scoop it up and shove it through his letter box!
Failing that you could alway 'decorate' his car!
Seriously I'd put it anywhere that will cause him an inconvenience and force him to have to tidy it up! I'd also ring the RSPCA for advice on him letting his dog outside unsupervised and off a lead, I think (don't quote me on this) that if his dog is left to wander the streets on it's own he's breaking the law.1st Aim = Pay off Virgin CC - £3929.110 -
Responsible Ownership
• Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005
Since 6th April 2006 local authorities in England and Wales have had the power to introduce new Dog Control Orders under this Act
These Orders may restrict where you can walk your dog (on or off lead), how many dogs you can walk at one time, and makes it an offence if a person in charge of a dog fails to clean up its faeces. Designated land may include roads, parks and other public areas within the local authority’s boundaries; in fact any land which is open to the air and to which the public are permitted to have access.
If you don’t abide by these Orders, you could be fined up to £1000. It is no defence to claim ignorance of the dog's actions, the law.
• Road Traffic Act 1988
This makes it an offence to have a dog on a designated road without the dog being held on a lead.0 -
whats jeys fluid?
I'd love to contact RSPCA/Council etc but fear a back lash0 -

The RSPCA are of no use to you but you must get the dog warden involved. It wont be confrontational - they will go around and "advise" - oh and your LL should be involved if you feel you cant do it.
Oh and jeyes IIRC is harmful to cats and dogs. You can see if theres anything in a garden centre you can buy to keep animals off your lawn but besides an electric fence (and yes you can buy one) I dont think anything much works0 -
jeys fluid is strong disinfectant that can be bought at most super markets, if you go to garden centres there are several treatments you can but down with varying levels of success at stopping this. the only option in my book is to clear it up and leave it on their propertyI am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0

Not sure i get the layout of your yard, but could the landlord put a fence up with a gate so that the path can still be accesed? I don't think the clean neighbourhood act will help if its on private property, but i could be wrong. Its probably best to contact local dog warden to get advice on dealing with the situation, but i don't see anything wrong with poop scooping and leaving it on his property.0

Jeys is an excellent dissinfectant.. Some people wash the side of their houses with it just before house martins start building nests there. Its string stuff, but I would say, you need something to take the scent away, he is probably coming back to the same spot as his scent is there...
Failing that, I agree with some of the other posters, scoop it up and throw it back on his yard, see how he likes it...0 -
Cant Jeyes fluid kill cats though? I'd imagine it can do dogs some serious damage too...you dont want to be killing the dog. I also suggest scooping the poop and dumping it on his doorstep if the dog warden cant help.0
