Urgh my husband is so annoying it's unreal
Just when i thought I got somewhere with him, he's not a bit interested in this site or what I've discovered, he thinks we can do it by ourselves without anybody's help, and he told me this site was a 'phase' I was going through
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr he's really made me mad

Toffee,
Never mind what he says, he will come round in the end, if not, you can prove to him thru hard work on the debt side of things that this site is helpful. Now I wonder if you have ever had credit card charges? If you have, have you done anything about reclaiming them back? Tell your DH that I have just reclaimed £1700 of my money back with the help of this site. Thats how much of a waste of time this site is................
Just you do your thing and everyone on here will help as much as they can.

PS I got £500 for my mum as well0 -
Erm...no I don't think we have every had credit card charges...we have loads of bank charges in the past and I know you can claim it back but in order to that you might have to look at clearing any overdraft you have with them, which is impossible for us at the minute
Thanks for the help though, me and the hubby have been a bit rocky over the past few days, think we are both a bit stressed money ways, he's playing the ostrich though
Nevermind ....

Wishing you luck.
Agree with a few of the tips. The thing that worked best for me was writing everything down. According to my SOA I had money left, but I never actually had any. Writing down - Mars bar from machine 45p is so disheartening. Writing - Iceland shop - food for week - £12 (including pack of Mars Bars) - is so much better.
Also, draw out cash and stick to it, if you haven't got it you can't spend it.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

the support you will get from here will make up for his attitude and when he sees the changes he may come round.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Hi hope you don't mind but I'll be following your progress and will be reading with much interest, I too have 2 children but my husband stays at home with the girls whilst I go out to work, not too conventional but it works for us, and betwen us we have around the same amount of debt as you.
I know what its like to have a husband that has their head in the sand ( alot of our debt was a result of hubbies failed business ventures) and I often feel I'm tackling OUR debt on my own!
Try and stay positive, as a newbie I'm still getting the hang of debt managing and when I feel low I just try and look at the bigger picture of providing a better life for my children, and imaging what we'll be doing when we're debt free!
