contract phone wanted with option to limit credit just to monthly line rental?
Hi, I have been searching but cannot find, I am after a contract phone for £10 a month with some free mins and texts but want to be able to put a stop on further calls being made once free mins and texts have been used up, so that I will only be paying 10 p/m for the phone and don't have to worry about my son running up a bill. Does anyone know of any provider that offers this? Thanks Jackie

Easy, tell him if he goes above his monthly limit, you'll chop his fingers off so he can't dial out, problem solved ;-)0

Closest I can think of is as follows (but nothing for £10/month):
With phone - http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/shop/mobile-phones/price-plans/u-fix/u-fix-talk/plans/
Sim only - http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/shop/mobile-phones/sim-card/u-fix/0 -
U-Fix is the only one I know of, and it's crap value for money.0

I'm pretty sure you can change the credit limit to about £1, with 3.
Plus they update their allowance immediatley so can't go over.0 -
I got the Orange Dolphin £10 a month sim only

My daughter can ring 150 daily to check the minutes and texts and if she goes over the limit then the phone will be confiscatedShe has quickly got into the habit of only texting in the evenings and w/ends.

The only other option I can think of is get a t-mobile with cashback, i.e. the combi 25 works out at 10 ish a month on dialaphone (then 60 quid cashback through quidco). When I was with t-mobile they texted you every day to tell you how much of your allowance you had left. Other than that I have no idea. However,I do remember a report on Watchdog a few years ago saying mobile companies weren't abiding to limits people were adding to mobiles so if you do find what you want I would advise getting them to confirm in writing that they WILL abide by your limit, otherwise you may be in for a shock. You can't go wrong with carpet bombing...0

You can get a pay as you go phone and have a direct debit set up to top it up. It has the same effect.0

With PAYG you will get no where near the same value for money.
I would suggest a call limit of £1, I'm sure 3 can arrange that, ring them up.
Try t-mobile aswell - just remember CS reps will always say yes to whatever you say to try and get you to pay money!0 -
Thanks guys for all your replies, I wanted a contract phone for vlaue for money. My son is only very young and has aspergers syndrome so managing not to go over the mins would prove to be very difficult for him. I will look into the options suggested especially putting on a credit limit of £1, thanks again
