    Just called them....

Because i'm not in an AOL unbundled area, the best they could offer me was 12.99 including their phone package. I refused in the hope they might at least go down to 9.99, but they didn't

Looks like i'll be getting a MAC by email soon... oh well, nothing ventured nothing gained

Just as a footnote to this, I'm currently with AOL, upto 8mb (LLU) £14.99, phoned them up this morning to see if they would offer me a better deal, the best they were prepared to offer me was £12.99 without a phone deal, or £6.99 with a phone deal.

Seeing as I don't want to tie up my phone with them I said no thanks, have now requested a mac code, O2 have just gone live at my exchange..

Seems that AOL are not quite as keen to keep customers as they once where.

I've just tried to negotiate down my 17.99 per month for AOL silver; the Ireland cancellations dept was prepared to offer me the same price (with a few months discounted) for anytime free calls added to my existing broadband, on an 18 month contract. I said I was looking for a £10 per month deal. As my phone exchange is not AOL unbundled (but I knew has talk talk) he said it costs aol £10 a month off BT for the rental, indicating that it would have to be £15 for aol just to break even.

I said I wanted to do my homework for the best deal. He suggested looking at BT and Post Office. And he most generously said that he would send me my MAC code without even me asking for it!!!! Funny he didnt tell me to look at talk talk as they seem the best price-wise

For £20.99 a month for Talk Talk Global free calls anytime including line rental it seems to be a no brainer in favour of Talk-Talk, as BT line rental is £10.50 plus £15 + for AOL (actually offerred £17.99), and does not include any calls abroad, is £5 + more per month than talk talk
